THE GAUNTLET HAS BEEN LAID FOR OFF. LINE

Nov 5, 2013, 8:42 AM

Columbia radio already talking about coot game and consensus is that Clemson's offensive line cannot block coots D-line. Rick Sanford laughed about ACC and how Clemson will once again come in unprepared to face a physical team. If this doesn't put some fire under our O-line then I will have to question their guts/manhood. It's time to bury those b@stards!!!

I made a similar post yesterday saying we have to come in and play like we did against LSU... TOUGH! We've played the coots way to "pretty" and "soft" last two years. They bully us from the start, talking trash and being thugs. We have to punch them in the mouth! In fact, I'm semi-ok with literally getting a personal foul penalty near the start of the game to let them know we are not "SCARED" as the Clown would put it.

Go Tigers!

With Battle landing a nuclear haymaker to Clowneys jaw and a USuC DB picking a fight with Rodriguez and getting his kidneys ripped out through his nose.

Sorry, I know Dabo is about class, integrity, and respect, but football is a game of violence, aggression, overcoming a huge obstacle, and toughness. I understand Dabo wants us to be the "good guys". Cool. Great. But we don't have to be soft.

Dabo is a man of God, so maybe he should read some more about Samson.
Great man of faith, strong integrity, a man after God's heart, a good guy.
But he also killed dozens of fully armed enemy soldiers with his bare hands, ripped the jaw off of one enemy soldier and used it as a weapon to kill a bunch more, and single-handedly demolished an entire STONE temple with his bare hands

So please Dabo, make our team like Samson so Vic Beasley can rib Connor Shaws jaw off and then beat Dylan Thompson to death with it. Figuratively of course....

Trey, getting the pf on the first series was the plan against todd ellis and it worked. He played scared the rest of the game.

In order for us to BEAT Usuc we have got to establish a running game and if and when we do we must stick with it.
Last year had we not went away from it we would have won by 10 or more points. Just saying
GO TIGERS

Absolutely cannot look past GT. But this is a message board and people are allowed to look to 2016 if they want to. That being said, the fact that WB will by far be the most hostile crowd faced all year should be a concern. There are some young players who, to this point in the season, have only experienced a really big crowd cheering FOR THEM, as opposed to a deafening roar when they screw up.

Why look ahead

Nov 5, 2013, 8:54 AM

That game is too far away to even think about it.... we do not win next week...that game really does not matter except for you people that feel that is the biggest game of the year. Why do people here put them up on this football podium..they do not even matter, but everyone here makes them this power house. What have the won? A few bowl games? To listen to people here, ther have won seven National Championships. People they have not won anything, do not make them out to be anything special.

The only bragging rights they have is in baseball and they deserve that, can't argue. BUT if their only claim to fame is beating us for the past four years... so what. Do they fly a banner for that at the stadium? Seriously, I hate losing to them but I am not going to give them the satisfaction of thinking they are anything special. Not even a conference championship... really????????

All those things you said, making them seem like a crappy

team, and they've blown us out 4 years in a row.

I'm with you. The real reason this game carries importance is recruiting. That and beating another member of the secheat. That is it, but it does matter, and I certainly want us to win it, just like I want us to win all the rest of our games.

4 in a row all by double digits ring a bell. they are our in state hated rivals, that's why it means so much and why they are always on our mind and why we look ahead. gt will be a tough test but no where near as much so as usuck. being an away game makes it tougher and to be honest they have been more physical in the games against us lately. I agree o line and run game will be very important. imo we will be able to move the ball with the passing game but can not beat them with pass alone and must get the run game going. I also believe we have to stop davis and their run game to win. shaw will not beat us with the pass. our front 4 will get pressure on him.

The argument has some validity. Clemson plays a team like 2-5 UVA and the D coord says how much we have progressed. There is a chance by the end of the year Clemson will have played 3 teams with a winning record and 2 of those were out of conference.

That is where this is coming from. Clemson forgot recruiting linemen on either side of the ball for a few years while getting top notch skill players. That can win you games against lesser teams when you can throw it up to a Sammy and let him out run everyone. When a good line gets in there, it gets tougher especially when there have been weeks of weak foes in front of you.

Who knows what the reasons are, maybe just simple USC has 10 starters on NFL Defenses from the last 4 years and that is more than either school has ever had at one time. Hence their 4 straight wins, those players are gone so maybe the wins are gone too. Maybe that's how simple it is and it changes in a few weeks. No way around the fact that Clemson's D is better this year and USC's is worse

I think the tide turns this year

Fact - Clemson's D is better this year

Fact - USC defense is not as good this year 4 true freshman in starting roles former position players are in the NFL so obvious huge drop off there

Fact USC has 4 seniors and is the youngest team in the country according to USA Today. They should be ripe for the taking the next couple of years

The Tigers need to focus on dominating tech THEN toughen up like the lsu game+some for the gamecocks. Stating the obvious but I'd be furious and extremely motivated to beat an opponent I'd lost to 4 years in a row. Let's do it TIGERS. I've been patient as possible with my many gamecock friends but I'm just about sick of their boasting, trash talk. Really. ; /
