Panic ensues. Clemson hires Jad Dean as replacement coach. Revered coach Muschamp leads the Gamecocks to 5th straight national title.

I think it was a natural reaction ... I was expecting/hoping to read, "MANY years to come"
To me "several" implies that you see an end. I was hoping that Dabo would NEVER see an end to his time at Clemson...

> I think it was a natural reaction ... I was > expecting/hoping to read, "MANY years to come" > > To me "several" implies that you see an end. I was > hoping that Dabo would NEVER see an end to his time > at Clemson... I was hoping the same thing, and I have always stated my belief that Dabo and Kathleen loved Clemson enough to make Clemson their permanent home, and that they would retire in Clemson. It's funny how one word like the word "several" can put a ? mark in one's previous feelings that they have had for awhile. No one's belief that Dabo would never leave Clemson was any stronger than mine until maybe now. I just hope that his overwhelming success at Clemson, hasn't made him feel the need to prove that Bama wouldn't miss a step with him as HC after Saban. But it is hard to believe that a man of Dabo's character and his religious beliefs, would walk away from what he himself has built at Clemson, into a very successful program that the man before him built. Even if, and I believe he would keep Bama being successful program. The fans of Bama and fans from the teams they play would always see Nick Saban's face, and say that Bama was very successful before Dabo took over. When anybody looks at the Face and the success of Clemson's program, they see Dabo's face on our program, and not Tommy Bowden or Danny Ford....

Anybody that believes that Muscan't would ever win one NC with the coots, they have the wildest imagination ever in a human being, even the one's smoking or snorting PCP or psilocybin mushrooms, AKA magic shrooms, and that's pretty ### wild !!!

He'll be treated like a prodigal son, like he disappointed them and is returning to make things right.

Just curious DH...but where in the article did Dabo specifically say "The Best is yet to come"?

I think several is OK. My guess is that for him life is bigger than football. I believe he will hang up his coaching hat at a relatively young age. Maybe Clemson is his last stop.

I sure hope so, and I hope that he has already groomed somebody by that time that see's and believes Dabo has the right formula for success!!! Anybody can lay claim to being a coach, but anybody can't be a successful coach.

if he's smart, he'll stay at Clemson until bama hires and fires sab's replacement. he knows not to directly follow sab. he also is loved by the media so he has a second career after coaching

1 BCS embarrassment, 1 BCS win, 1 CFP win
Apr 21, 2016, 2:44 AM

The BCS is gone. The BCS Bowls are now (depending on the year of the rotation), are the New Years Six Bowls (2 of those 6 are considered College Football Playoff Semifinal games last year).
That being said, last year's Orange Bowl win over Jokelahoma is a CFP win.
