My company sponsors Palmetto Health so I filled one of out spots and went to a fundraising event for breast cancer last night. Spurrier was there and said this pretty much verbatim "I'm not going to stand up here and run my mouth like that coach from the upstate does" and "I invite you to get your picutre with two trophies up here, one is the Cap. 1 Bowl trophy and the other is the state championship trophy, that trophy is not really a big deal because we win it every year now" I polished off my drink and walked out. I can not wait for 11/24/12.

Regardless of passion for a cause, there is only so much spurrier one can stomach. Kudos for him going in the first place with such a jerk on the program.

Especially when 'that coach from the upstate' wife is a breast cancer survivor. Thought that rally was for Brest Cancer Awareness, not SOS recognition.

I would not have been there to start with....that says nothing about concern for breast cancer victims, you can send a check any tine you want to without listening to
spur mouth. It's funny how guys like him always start out stating how they are not going to run their mouth and then proceed to do so. Next time the dude takes his shirt off at a sporting event, law enforcement should
make him put on a sports bra.

He’s at a fund raiser for breast cancer and he stands the chance of alienating half the crowd he is there to try to raise money from.
He made it about himself and not the cause.

I certainly see your point and while I wasn't there, I'd bet he was lighthearted about it with a chuckle...and I'd also bet he got a laugh from the crowd.
If you hear a joke like that and then decide not to support something like Breast Cancer Awareness, you really have the issues.

I mean, why in the hell do you think they invited Spurrier to the event? Because of his name and accolades. Bringing the awards for people to see in person makes perfect sense unless you are just really trying to pick apart this whole deal.
If they wanted a no-name to speak at the event, they would have called you.

his trophies were gonna cure breast cancer?? When making a presentation to raise cash for a cause, you DO NOT make any presentation that would turn some donators away.
His accolades have NOTHING to do with fighting for a cause such as this.
I bet this no-name here could have done a better presentation without acting like an ###

Again, you are missing the point.
Spurrier is a big name. Big name attracts people to the event. More people mean more opportunity to raise more money. They are after more money to support their cause.
If the above was't true, they wouldn't have invited anyone to speak and instead, just had finger foods while passing an offering plate around.

not once did I say spurrier was not a big name.
He will not raise more money to support their cause if he makes an issue of Clemson/Coots. People would donate to another foundation to support the same cause.
You must not know much about fund raising. You don't say something that will #### off some of your audience.
