Random Question? Adults wearing...

Sep 14, 2022, 9:38 PM

Adults wearing jerseys has always seemed a little off to me. My rule is that if you are older than the player's jersey that you are wearing, then it's a little odd. Even if you aren't it just doesn't seem like a good look for a man to have another man's name on his back. Now that I think about it, I have no problem with women's jerseys. Oh well...on to the question.

Is it different with baseball jerseys because they seem more like a shirt and are more stylish? I don't own any type, just a thought because I would be much more likely to go that route. Especially minus another dude's name on it.

If everybody wore a Banks McFadden jersey, you’d be ok with that?

Or too many people older than him in the stands

No idea where this supposed stigma has come from about wearing a football jersey with your favorite player's name on it. I mean, they've only sold a few hundred thousand or so.

That looks way too much like a coach. And that’s a deeeby look if you aren’t coaching.

It’ shows support for the team. Who cares what people wear? Some of these jerseys are $199
+ for authentic ones. If you wanna buy one, no shame in wearing.

I’m a polo guy myself but certainly wouldn’t look twice at a grown man wearing one…. Unless it was a gamecock.

Yes but, there is always somebody wanting to tell somebody else what they're doing wrong, when actually they should be more attentive to them selves more bc, I'm sure they do things that others don't approve of also!!! Just let people be who they want to be, or do what they feel good about doing when it's not harming anyone. There is just to much wrong going on around us in this world to worry about, than what others choose to wear to a FB game!!!

I also do not like the Tiger mascot - too derivative. Albeit I can't think of an alternative that sounds good with Clemson.

Re: Your question was football vs baseball jersey

Sep 15, 2022, 12:45 PM [ in reply to Your question was football vs baseball jersey ]

The post was why do football jerseys seem more cringy than baseball jerseys to some people.
Yes, I stated MY opinion on wearing a jersey. To say that I said that it bothered me when others do is a stretch at best and a flat out falsified statement.
You can disagree with my opinion all day long but don't claim that I am worried about what others do. I didn't bash anyone else just stated MY rule. I simply saw a sharp Clemson Baseball jersey and wondered the thought of the difference.
You guys are super sensitive

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Just my take

Sep 14, 2022, 11:07 PM

Worrying about what any other grown person is wearing seems odd to me. To each their own I suppose, but it seems like such a waste of mental energy.

Sep 14, 2022, 11:15 PM

So one of my kids is painfully shy. She has spent the last year in near constant worry about what others are thinking of her. It's age appropriate and normal, but we've started working through it and made some good progress with a simple question. I often ask her to really think of how little she remembers what other people are doing or wearing. How often does she really care that other folks are doing things in public that someone else might find silly? The answer, for most folks, is hardly ever. Live your life. Treat people well, and let them do whatever the heck they want that doesn't harm you or others.

I really don’t care what one wears to a game, however I do reserve the right to think to myself I wouldn’t wear that. And that’s usually what I think when I see an adult male wear a jersey. I also agree with whoever said it’s entertaining seeing the guys who try and dress like Dabo. Again, not gonna make fun of ya, I just find it amusing. Speaking of clothes, I really want to find my “ POWERLINE 89” t- shirt. Got some who’s who of Clemson defense autographs on that shirt. Not sure I could still wear a kids Medium though
