Quick hits from practice

Just some stuff I noticed, not really for a story but still thought the board would like it.
*The difference between Watson and the other QB's is wide, like Grand Canyon wide. Nick Shuessler threw a pick, had a fumbled exchange with Brooks and then threw another pick in a series of plays Monday. Hopefully he looks better today. He did look better as the practice progressed. Bryant looks the part, accuracy needs to improve.
*Dabo was in full head coach mode yesterday. Lots of up downs for players he thought might be loafing or not showing leadership. He got Mike Williams and Kearse and Tankersley and several others.
*Carlos Watkins was active, all over the place. Really like what I saw out of him.
*We didn't see much out of the kicking game, but I will say this: Don't count out former Daniel kicker Christian Groomes. The little lefty was hitting both punts and field goals yesterday and at times looked better than the projected starters. Add in punter Hunter Renfrow and this competition will be fun to watch.
*The running backs all look good, but Dye and Gallman have created separation in my eyes. It's those two and then everybody else. Gallman just looks like that big time back, and Dye looks the best hes looked since he's been here.
*That secondary is flat out NASTY. Add in Mark Fields and this group is gonna be fun to watch.

Well, I am not hearing it and I doubt the coaches have said anything one way or the other. I would assume he would redshirt considering he won't be back until the first week of the season and will miss valuable time. But an injury or two and he could be right back in the action

David do you have any Eligibility left? Can you play QB? If Watson is in any way hurt do you think the backups could get us through a game or 2?

I was very impressed that he was taking the bull by the horns and helping reach out to other prospects. Great to see someone be a leader before they've ever taken a snap. Gotta love that maturity.

Chad was out there yesterday, but the linebackers were away from us. When he did come to my side of the field it was Boulware and Goodson and a few others getting the most reps. Hopefully we can see more today

I saw where Bryant throws the ball holding it almost at the end. This would seem to be where his accuracy problem comes. It's like a bottle rocket. If you just hold the end of the stick no telling where it's gonna go, but if you put it in a tube you have a much better ideal. I'm surprised no one has fixed this.

And I will say it again...
"IF"...
Watson stays healthy the whole season, it might not matter much who the back up is.
But!
If we need a backup to play big time minutes, they better hope Bryant is ready.

I don't know about starting, but he'll be in the mix. Hard to say "he will start" after just one day, and to be honest, Cordrea Tankersley looked really really good. It will be a nice battle
