Jackson Carman: Decision looms for nation's No. 1 offensive tackle

Jackson Carman has a decision to make a few days before July 21st. Until then, however, the nation’s number one offensive tackle is going to enjoy thinking about the things he learned, the fun he had and the people he met at Nike’s The Opening over the last week. Full Story »

I like this young man. Without saying he favored the Tigers, his comments point to that. I believe the Jackman will join the family and go on to be a great OL for us.

Keeping my fingers crossed. I hate that the distance makes it difficult to visit. He's been to Ohio state plenty, needs another visit to Tiger Town to confirm his feelings that Clemson is home.

Some of these guys are getting smart at dropping Tidbits to sway peoples thoughts to thinking they know where they are going, when they are actually heading in another direction. I guess it's mostly to test the the thoughts of coaches and what they are willing to offer them through a line of BS and saying anything to obtain their services. I say this bc that is what I would do, I would want to see who is willing to tell me anything to sign me. In situations like recruiting, I believe that it is best to be upfront and a 100% honest with these guys. I do believe they get 110% honesty from Dabo and his staff. Their HS coaches should have, and most have schooled them on what to listen for, and what a college recruiter can honestly promise them, and what they can't. Hopefully that helps the recruit to see right through the B-S that a lot of coaches offer. If I was a HS coach that had a 5* or a 2* player, I would be sure that they were 100% prepared for the college recruiting process, and they're able to see through all the B-S that goes on in recruiting. If I knew of coaches that wasn't always completely honest with their promises to recruits, I would be sure they knew what I had learned about those coaches in the past, and Urban Meyer is a coach that I do not trust bc of the B-S way he left Florida. The people that follow recruiting, most have learned that it is a dog eat dog business where one top recruit can be worth a lot of money for a college sports program.
