Tony Elliot is catching hate bc:

- he was given full play-calling duties just before Scott left for USF.....that was just before the LSU game...and Elliot (admitted) royally screwed up play calling then as well

- We later saw how horrible the play calling was against a ND team with a total defense that wasn't even ranked in the Top25

- We then saw how horrible the play calling was against OSU, in route to a 21 point ### beating.

- We just saw an offense coach who, again, quit on the run game, did squat to change up the offense and spent 4 quarters watching his QB take 7 sacks, 2 yards of rushing and little to nothing, passing-wise.

- When a championship-caliber team, LOADED with 5-stars, can't even muster a TD in 4 quarters......it's time to start looking at the problems.


The Problems: Elliot is a horrible play-caller and Caldwell sucks at recruiting/developing linemen. This isn't some knee-jerk reaction - this has been glaringly obvious for the last 3 years.

It's obvious he wants to be a head coach, he's been talking about it for several years.

He has a lot of attributes in his favor that make him an attractive candidate. He is a smart, well-educated African-American man who has been the offensive coordinator for one of the best programs in college football. He can absolutely get a good head coaching job.

He seems ready to be a head coach, and as a Clemson fan I am ready for him to be a head coach. Our offense isn't good and I don't have much confidence that he can fix it.

He “played pretty” in saying what needs to be said. Too good of an offense to play/be coached so poorly.
