really what is the purpose of getting vaccinated if you still have to take the same steps after testing positive even if you have or do not have the vaccine?.

Natural selection increases ability to compete, survive, and reproduce.

In economics, the weakest businesses fail. In civics, the weakest civilizations fail.

And with COVID, the weakest thinkers fail.

The strongest thinkers listen to science and their doctors, wear masks, wash hands, get the shots, and now we watch the hospitals filling up mostly with the gleefully ignorant unvaxxed rubes who get their medical advice from cable tv hosts and their friends on Facebook who work down at the feed store or post anti-science memes while on break from hanging drywall.

That is all. Have at it.

Natural selection would mean… I don’t know… it’s all natural? Like… natural immunity? Those with the weakest natural immunity get vaccinated, therefore, if you want to use this logic, the vaccine is in fact anti-Darwin. It’s quite simple really.

So natural selection has nothing to do with decision making? Sure. That makes total sense. Brilliant!

And if you are saying only the people with the weakest immune systems got vaccinated, that means that about 60% of the American population somehow knew that they had the weakest immune systems and therefore needed the shot. I won’t even ask you to try to explain that.

You are doing an excellent job of proving my original point about the weakest thinkers. Your Herman Cain award is probably being made at this very moment.

Black and Latino Americans are disproportionately unvaccinated and dying from covid. Are these the gleefully unvaccinated rubes you speak of? They must have heard Kamala and Joe say that they wouldn't take the vaccine because Trump rushed it through trials. Sad how many Americans this administration has killed.

Here are the numbers, Latinos are not disproportionately unvaccinated. Blacks are, but most people know about all the experiments the government performed all the way into the 1970s.

White: 58% vaccinated
Black: 51%
Latino: 56%
Asian: 77%

However, Republicans make up about 36% of the population, but are 60% of the unvaccinated. The GOP has gotten progressively dumber since Reagan, but it attracted the largest group of pure idiots ever with Trump. I never realized how many indecent morons existed until 2016.

Its stuff like this, not "science" or anything else that keeps me from getting the shot.

1. I am not a gleefully ignorant rube.
2. I dont watch cable news
3. I dont have facebook.
4. Your implication that people that work at feed stores and hang drywall are stupid is stupid in my opinion

I initially did not get the shot because I dont like needles and I am generally healthy under 40 years old. Once it became an "us vs. them" scenario and you are stupid you got the shot and you are stupid you didnt get the shot you are going to die, I checked out. I read study after study and opinion after opinion but to me it really seems that its all political and everything is contradictory. Lets assume I was to go get the shot today. I would have to wait a month to get the second dose and it still wouldn't be adequate to "protect" me from Omicron. Then I have to wait to be able to get the booster. With as fast as it supposedly is spreading it seems I am more likely to get it before I can be protected in any way so what is the point?

I'm not anti-vax, or anti-mask, or anti-science.

Your approach is just as feeble-minded as those that you want to call out.

Quit lying to yourself, you have no more answers or credibility than anyone else does. Nobody knows anything for certain regarding long term effects of the virus or the shots.

It doesn't take a genius to know that this virus can be deadly. It also doesn't take a genius to know that the world has been sold a bill of goods.

Get over yourself.

Not sure what the vaccine does now or long term, but it apparent that this Covid we are dealing with now is a lot different than the one that we started with. Not sure the vaccine is even relevant to what is going on now to be honest. Does not appear to be helping according to folks I know that got sick that were vaccinated. Symptoms seem to be milder but are they milder for everyone or just the vaccinated.

It's a form of therapy, not a vaccine. It does not kill the virus, or stop you from spreading it. Nor does it stop you from getting it again. Period. It does help lessen the symptoms and severity, and keep you hopefully out of the hospital. Long term effects of the vaccines will not be known for some time. FDA wants 75 years before releasing the data on Pfizer vaccine. This is going to be around for a while and we need to get over it. Eventually the variants will become weaker and weaker. We will then treat it like a bad cold.

Yes but it was originally sold as the end all imo. You can definitely get anything you have been vaccinated for but hopefully milder symptoms. Just don’t know if the vaccine is still as affective as this thing keeps mutating.

A vaccine isn't going to 100% prevent someone from getting whatever virus it's meant to treat. That would require your immune system to recognize something the exact second you come into contact with it and deal with it. The flu vaccines work in the same type of way where the goal isn't really to prevent someone from getting the flu, but rather to hopefully make the symptoms of the flu mild if the person catches it.

The immune system needs time to recognize the virus and then make a proper response. Think about it like having a gun in your home for protection. Having the gun isn't likely going to prevent someone from breaking into your home, but the hope is the gun will protect your family and property should someone do so. Think about the virus as the intruder breaking into your home downstairs, the gun as the vaccine, and you as your immune system. You're upstairs and hear someone break in downstairs and you grab your gun to chase them away, retain them until the police show up, shoot them, etc... But before you do so you have a broken door and maybe they broke a lamp or something by knocking it over in the dark. Those are the mild symptoms as opposed to the risk of a much more serious outcome had you not had the gun present.

Next, think of the people who still end up with serious complications or death even after getting the vaccine as the person who has a gun for protection but is caught by surprise before they can grab the gun or maybe they lose the shootout with the intruder. Obviously, having a gun for protection doesn't 100% prevent something bad from happening just as the vaccine doesn't, but it does improve your chances.

You also see people have accidents with guns where maybe a child accidently shoots themselves or some other type of shooting accident occurs. That to me is similar to the small percentage of people who have side effects from the vaccine. I think most people who support gun ownership wouldn't let those few cases or the fact that there's still a chance that they won't be able to protect themselves or their loved ones from owning guns.

I am however, pro truth, and believe that our government believes that we are not smart enough to be able to handle the truth ...... thus they mix in a lot of BS that they know is just not true. There is no question in my mind that they never thought we would be back to normal if everyone got vaccinated or that the vaccine would be as effective as they claimed.

1) get vaccinated....no no no....get FULLY vaccinated.....no no no.....you need a booster....or two
2) Omicron is less deadly you may not even know that you have it
3) the vaccine loses it's efficacy over time....let's just use arbitrarily six months
4) The vaccine may not even be effective against Omicron.......so mask up......and get vaccinated
