Should K.J. become the point guard?

Feb 10, 2014, 9:28 AM

We really need him to break-down defenses by attacking the basket and creating more shots for everyone else.
For whatever reason, this is something that Rod Hall either can't do or just doesn't do

No... we need a PG to be our PG... but I get what your saying since we dont have a PG

nope he doesnt dribble nearly well enough. on a lot of plays he has bobbles the dribble. Sometims it works out anyway though.

For PG you need a much more sure ball handler.

I don't think we have anyone that can fill the void as

scoring option #1, so I don't think we can move him to PG.

No, we need O-linemen and WRs***

KJ McDaniels

Feb 10, 2014, 9:41 AM

as much as most of us like seeing him drive to the basket, I think his ball skills are limited. So KJ at point? Nah, not sure that's the answer.

But you're right about Hall.

We stand around dribbling way too far out to be a scoring threat.

Rod is never gonna be the guy who avg. 8- 10 assists...

Feb 10, 2014, 10:09 AM

he manages the game well and plays good, hard defense... he can get to the rack and finish, and this year he has been a scoring threat...

I think Filer can be a guy who gets others involved. I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I'm an Adonis Filer fan... even though he can do some dumb things.

no...hall is a good distributor of the ball

Feb 10, 2014, 10:29 AM

Sometimes just puts a little too much heat on it for the big men, who end not being able to get their hands on it in time. Needs a little bit better touch on some of his passes and know when and when not to throw lasers

I think Mcdaniels strengths are his athleticism and his ability to attack the basket and block shots.

If he became the point guard, it wouldn't utilize his strengths IMO.

Filer may be the best option, (this year) but it does appear that focusing on a PG who is more capable at dribbling/passing would make sense in recruiting for the future.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A PG should have a pass first mentality.

Feb 10, 2014, 11:06 AM

KJ is best at the SG/SF position.

You do realize that offense is only half of the game of basketball.

Sure, switch KJ to PG. And watch him get blown by for layups on D.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

no..doesn't have the handles.

Feb 10, 2014, 11:58 AM

likely the reason we get him for another year..kj needs to improve his ball skills to play in the nba..his only shortcoming.

Not only is he reiterating what I posted @ 9:30 last evening after my 3rd daiquiri(see link above in this post above this sentence I'm typing now), he is continuing to prove that he is not a follower of Clemson basketball by posting in the football forum.

Not only is he a German coot, he is likely a Polish anti-semite.
