Kurt Flemming......

Sep 21, 2014, 2:59 PM

I'm not ready to sideline him for the whole year because of it! He adds at a physical presents in the run that Clemson has lacked for a very, very long time. He deserves more chances to prove himself. How many running backs do you know that hasn't fumbled atleast a few times?

A lot of idiots have already labeled him "butterfingers"

and fumble prone. I guess CJ Davidson is done now at Clemson since he fumbled.

Fleming has a few carries and has dropped it twice and as said below he is probably dropping it in practice. lead blocker in short yardage would be a good use till the coaches have confidence in him which obviously they dont. So I guess they are idiots too

No, I didn't say the coaches are idiots. He may be dropping

Sep 21, 2014, 3:10 PM

it in practice - but we don't know that - we have no idea. Either way, I'm sure they have good reasons for not playing him.

That doesn't change the fact that those who label him as fumble prone with such a small sample size (one of "his" fumbles was during the exchange with the 3rd string QB and may have just been a bad hand-off) and without knowing what happens in practice are, in fact idiots. Or maybe morans.

I agree, it has been a small sample. He definately needs to earn the coaches trust, not a given. However, with C.J Davidson fumbling, and the other backs struggling on short yards, it couldn't hurt to try. Especially with first team offensive line, 1st team QB. Maybe even throw in Jay Jay as lead .

Yep, when speaking of a hand of one affects the hands of all. Fumbles happen, Ints happen, blocked kicks happen, missed field goals happen. But do you bench good players at their position b/c they are human and have made mistakes or bad plays. Or do you keep working with them to keep those mistakes or bad plays to an acceptable minimum. Kurt could easily be turned into that short yardage beast we have needed for a long time. That short yardage beast that we needed last night would have surely put the final nail in FSU's coffin last night is clearly a must have for us to win on the big stage. I know we all try and out think our coaches in everything coaches do or do not do. But wouldn't some extra time coaching a guy like Kurt Flemming be worth every second of extra time put into getting him ready to tote the rock for us be worth it in the short and long run. I say yes, get the guy ready, we very badly need his size and brute toughness the rest of the season....

I agree, I would hazard to guess he probably would get 1 yard 7 of 10 times. I would even guess he would get 1 yard more than he would fumble.

Him not getting in last night would have an outsider

Sep 21, 2014, 3:01 PM

guessing that the ball is still hitting the ground during practice.

Maybe, but I do like his run style

I do too.***

Re: Kurt Flemming

has fumbled way too much for the amount of carries he has. maybe one day he can earn back playing time, but that time is not right now.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Exactly what I'm talking about. He may not fumble again

Sep 21, 2014, 3:49 PM

as long as he plays football. One of "his" fumbles was during the exchange with 3rd string QB; not sure that it wasn't a bad hand off. The other was while he was fighting for yards, refusing to go down, and one of several tacklers was able to strip it.

If he fumbles a lot in practice, then maybe he is fumble prone; but we have no way of knowing if that is the case. Or, if he gets more PT, and continues to have trouble holding onto the ball, then yes, the "butterfingers" label would fit. As it stands right now, it's ridiculous and undeserved.

My point exactly !

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Chances are he'll be that last player at risk of fumbling.

Sep 21, 2014, 4:08 PM [ in reply to Exactly what I'm talking about. He may not fumble again ]

Guy said after an airline crash he'd be scared to fly with that airline and another said why not? That would be the safest one in the sky. Same with Kurt so to speak. He may never fumble again

I realize that his only carries were against SC St. But I was impressed by his effort. Give him a chance. We need some short yardage help.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

totally agree. As I said, can't wait to see him play***
