Next Year's Basketball Team......

Since this season seems to have gone down the tubes....

Next year, it looks like we lose the following:

Tyson; Bohanon, Collins, Fox

Returning (if they all return)

Guards:

Dawes (Sr.)
Honor (Sr.)
Hunter (Jr.)
Hemenway (Sr.)
Beadle (Fr)* Redshirted this year
Gibson (Fr)- 6'6

Forwards/Centers:

Hall (Jr.)
Shieffelin (So.)
Middlebrooks (So.)
Godfrey (Fr)- 6'7
Wiggins (Fr)- 6'9

Walk-Ons

Foster (Sr); Nauseef (Sr)


My guess is that we'll be hitting up the portal for at least one big man and/or small forward type.

I suppose someone will transfer out (seems to be a norm).

If I were putting together a depth chart....without knowing a lot about the incoming freshmen....

PG- Dawes, Beadle (Honor technically goes here...but I wonder if he'll stay)
SG- Hunter, Hemenway (Hunter has played much better....he might take another step forward)
SF/3rd Guard- Gibson, Likely need a transfer here.....could play some 3 guard with Hemenway.
PF- Sheffelin, Godfrey, Wiggins
PF/C- Hall, Middlebrooks, Likely need a transfer here....

I know it would be miraculous if Schieffelin and Middlebrooks could make the same kind of leap (no pun intended) as PJ did..but it sure would be nice. HCBB hit a home run with Collins and Bohannon this year. I hope he can do it again.

I hope Tyson uses a Cov8d year if he can and I hope Honor. There's no reason for him to transfer. No incoming or redshirt freshmn should be expected to take major minutes from anyone. A big man from the portal that can provide quality minutes would help tremendously. If Tyson doesn't return then another SF a cut above Collins would be nice.

And our coach now professes we need to RECRUIT BETTER! That is not a new situation for Clemson basketball. It has been the obvious needed additive since CBB got to Clemson. And he needs a better staff, as well. Recruiting has to be a primary responsibility of the HC and the staff. It is a sad situation for certain and the new AD has got some tough decisions to make re the men's and ladie's programs. Thay are not going to heal themselves with the same schemes.

Really hoping Honor transfers

He’s just not a D1 athlete or an ACC caliber guard and Brownlee isn’t smart enough not to play him.

This roster overall isn’t very good, but Brad’s teams for years have been built around one great player, so hopefully Hall stays healthy enough to not have a year similar to this one.
