Michigan = weak

Feb 21, 2022, 9:01 PM

Only a 5 game suspension for Howard. He’ll get to coach the conference tourney.

The B1G suspended him, not Michigan. Which could mean Michigan was going to do nothing, or now they have time to get with their lawyers and fire him with cause. Guess we’ll see if they have a backbone or not.

No, Michigan suspended him. The conference fined him and said they would not add any more to the suspension since Michigan acted swiftly.

"The disciplinary actions were imposed by the Big Ten, in conjunction with both schools." - per ESPN report. Sounds like all 3 agreed on the suspension. I don't care either way.

Interesting. This is the quote from the article on The Score:

“ The conference also fined Howard $40,000 but declined to add any games to his suspension, citing the Wolverines' quick internal disciplinary actions.”

A conference not piling on more punishment. I wonder what that would be like?

They must not have a sniveling POS pig rat like Swofford in the B1G. ***

Yes, the Wisconsin coach

Feb 22, 2022, 12:26 AM

Was fined 10k for calling Howard a jive turkey. I think that’s fair. Howard’s punishment seems a little on the lighter side, but his bad rep is now terrible.

Every post on this subject has you chiming in about him being called a jive turkey…like that’s some big deal. I don’t get it.

$10k for using an insult from the 70’s? Nah.

I guess Woody Hayes would be proud, at least he punched a player...lol

No way he should have a job. I’ve never had a job that I wouldn’t have been fired for hitting someone must less setting the example for young men to be great. No way he should coach another day there.

I could see him going elsewhere later but not now.

That's a pretty solid levy for that. Could amount to around 1/6 of his salary also. That the punch was thrown at a coach (i.e. adult) and not a kid is a big difference IMO.

If he is suspended without pay.

That's tough enough, especially for a team on the bubble.

Will there possibly be a Michigan, Wisc repeat in the Big Ten tourney?

Why are they week? He slapped a coach he didn’t go after a player? 5 games sounds good to me. The Wisconsin head coach should be suspended too. He put his hands on Howard first.

Re: Michigan = weak

Because you are soft. Andrew booth should have been kicked off the team when he punched the Louisville player? Don’t give me the excuse he is a kid. 18-22 year olds know better. Baseball players fight. Basketball players fight. Two coaches fought. If a coach goes after a player I get it. But a coach from the other team forcefully grabbed him and he retaliated, so he should fired? Lol
