Yea, just now noticed that. It was in my Twitter timeline a like 45 minutes ago though.

You could make the argument that they were still the top team because Auburn barely pulled one out, but after their showing against Oklahoma it shows that they aren't perfect and #1 isn't where they belong. Still a great program and top 5 if not still top 3 overall even after the loss, I'm not sure why everyone is so excited to jump on the "Alabama sucks" bandwagon.

USC fan here...

I have been saying all year that Bama's only impressive win this year was against LSU.

Every other good team they played...they lost to.

I haven't been drinking the SEC Kool-Aid for quite some time.

There is more parity now, as in every conference has some good teams (ACC has Clemson and FSU...and that is really it)

And every conference has some tomato cans.

Now go smash OSU!

Actually many people believed this until last night.***

What a tool that writer is... He was already setting up a loss. "If Bama played this game in October they would crush OK" yea.... Cause the Sugarbowl is not a big game, lol. Bama played hard, they tried to win but made costly errors, and IMO Stoops out coached Saban.

When someone has made up their mind about something...

there's no use to argue. For the sake of the truth, had Bama been better than AU the score would have reflected it when the clock expired. I'm talking about the clock before they gave Bama a second chance to score.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

It's a Gregg Doyel article. That's all you need to know.***

People believe what they want.

Writers write articles like this to get the clicks of people reading it.

1.) If Alabama was that much better they wouldn't loose to Oklahoma just because it is the lowly Sugar Bowl. If you can't get motivated for that you don't deserve to play for the championship anyway.

2.) It shouldn't matter when you loose to a team. It should only matter that you did. Human polls can say, well that team had this many suspensions or injuries during that game but other than that a loss is a loss.

3.) The "playoff" is only going to get 4 teams in to two knock out games and one championship. That is still nothing compared to Baseball or the NBA.

WHat a load of crap this paragraph is...

Jan 3, 2014, 8:28 AM

"But this is early January and Alabama is the two-time defending national champion playing out the string on a season that turned cruelly in its last game, so if Alabama plays uninspired and Oklahoma comes to win, well, maybe Oklahoma wins. That's not me backing off my opinion about Alabama's greatness, but supporting it: In a vacuum, Alabama crushes Oklahoma. But they're not playing in a vacuum, are they? They're playing in a game nobody at Alabama wants to play. So we'll just have to see."

SOOOOOOOOOO..

If Bama wins, they are clearly the best team in the country, (Even though Auburn just beat them head to head. And, even if Auburn had not made that miraculous play to beat Bama......IT WAS STILL TIED!!! Not like Bama was the winner already) But if Bama loses, they did not really want to win. That is why we have to get to at least an 8 team playoff fast. Otherwise, Bama is gonna be in it every year, playing the 4th best team in the first game, because, EVERBODY knows Bama is the best team regardless of record.
