Hope not. Neff needs a name to cut and paste into next year’s letter.

"Finalist"
It's UVA or UNC. Most of the chatter is UVA.

I have seen criticism here that Brad doesn’t go after the UNC recruits.

That isn’t true, and here is an example.

Judging from the finalist list, we have no chance.

No coach in Clemson hoops history has ever signed a kid that

the Tar Heels really really wanted.
The closest it has ever come to happening was when we got Ricky Jones from four miles down the road at Pendleton HS after Dean Smith had visited him.
It’s just a sad fact that if UNC or Duke want a player, Clemson has no chance, and if Clemson signs a kid, it means those two schools had no real interest.
If this ever changes, then Clemson hoops may gain some traction. Either that or Duke/UNC have shut down their programs.

I remember him having an offer from Kentucky. No recollection of Dean Smith bring involved. Too late to ask Dean, I suppose.

He was obviously for sale, for one season of service. And I am glad we didn’t purchase him.

yeah, to UNC or maybe UGA. not going to go to Clemson. Brad is going to have a tough time to bring in 4 or 5 star players as long as he is on the hot seat. Best bet is bring in transfers in portal to get better.

Johnson is postponing his decision until April 14.

Virginia was considered the frontrunner, so perhaps this means he is reconsidering...

What hot seat? It seems quite comfortable year after year regardless of results.

Trust me, with Neff's wordy letter that you know that coaching competitors got a hold of, a relatively small buyout, and just extended two years left he is on the hot seat.

Well he is at least strongly considering us or he wouldn’t have us as a finalist.

He has dozens of offers.
We might not get him, but our staff is doing their best.
Aren’t you one of the ones who has complained in the past that Brad doesn’t go after top recruits? If so, it’s interesting that when he does go after top recruits you go out of your way to be negative about it.

no PJ Hall proves he has, but that is the only thing now about having a coach every season that is going to be on Insider hotseat coaching list. Other coaches will use this against Clemson that has a coach with a small buyout and just two year added extension.

What indication do you have that Brad is on the hot seat
Apr 1, 2022, 5:00 PM
|

other than a bunch of unrealistic fans posting on TigerNet?
Neff said that our basketball season wasn’t up to his standards or Brownell’s. Neff also stated that the administration needs to more aggressively support our basketball program.
Brad just got a raise and an extension in October.
These things point toward Brad not being on the hot seat right now.

But the letter also said it is a bottom line business. It said if there could be a coaching change if the standards are not met next season. trust me, when your buyout for a Power 6 conference coach is only $3 million dollars at extensions none the less, you are not on easy street. It is shaky ground.
Go read Insider list like Jeff Goodman every November, Brad Brownell will be on that list.

Not Clemson. The major rumor is that the new UGA coach reached out and asked him to postpone. Clemson is not in the mix here.
