He commits to players that commit to us. Some players lack this loyalty. I doubt Dabo will change, but he needs to.

Forgive me for being Captain Obvious, but our 2022 recruiting class has been mangled by the loss of assistant coaches.

I figure that J.Campbell and D.Everette both would have stuck with us had BV not departed.

Who knows about J.Kanak ... at least he didn't sign early with OK.

Clemson has been enormously fortunate (by virtue of Dabo's culture and forward-thinking by spending the money where it had the biggest good impact) to keep key Asst. Coaches over the past ~ decade. This stability yielded many special players coming to Clemson.

Every once in a while there is turnover at all successful programs with the Asst. Coaches. This was Clemson's year for the Asst. Coaching turnover. Consequently, we've had some recruits bail.

And before everyone says 'well, Bama doesn't have problems with recruiting when Asst. Coaches leave' ... anyone with any brains will know that Bama has a brand which is unparalleled in college football (especially to HS football players).

But I'd bet that those Clemson FB players which do not make it to the NFL do better than the (large majority) of Bama players which don't make it to the NFL.

Our class stumbled when Michigan offered the Safety from IMG a fat NIL "signing bonus" and he told the other 2 Clemson commits that they could get a fat paycheck if they shopped around. They did.

This last kid that committed to Bama had to wait until late this afternoon to see if Alabama would have a spot, as Bama was in on the top DE as well. When that kid committed to UGlAy, there was a spot for him. He committed to Bama 30 minutes later. This isn't rocket science, and it isn't about losing coaches.

Commitments mean nothing until the pen hits the ink and there is nothing Dabo or any other coach can do to change that. There are no issues with NIL because it allows any athlete to earn money and that is called free enterprise.

I disagree and NiL in its current form will be the death of CFB….
When the fans stop going let’s see them get scholarships or become Millionaires playing a game.
