Shorter distance to Northwestern than to Texas AM. Only 150 miles further to Minnesota which would be the farthest Midwestern university.
If it becomes 2 super conferences, teams will be coast to coast in both.

Close rivalries with UGA, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Bama, USuC, Vandy, Ky- most of these can be reachrd in 4-5 hours driving.
True that LSU, Miss, Miss State, Missouri, Texas, Tx A&M, and OK a little further. But what is the closest Big 10 school? Maryland? Penn State? 8-10 hours away?

There is more to a university than football.
If you look at everything, top to bottom, IMO, Clemson would be better off in the B1G than the SEC.
Compared to what the B1G is becoming, the SEC is too regional, too focused on football and much weaker academically.
I realize most here prefer the SEC because of history and geography, but it's a huge no-brainer to me the B1G would be a better destination.

And basically all I care about. Love to do good in other sports, but I rarely watch basketball and even more seldom watch baseball. We need to make decisions that is best for football. Period.

BIG10 is the best fit---if you think we do anything on the academic side

So anything north of North Carolina is classified as an esteemed bastion of academic excellence? Geez, last time I watched Minnesota vs Wisconsin it was boring as heck and the players on the field didn’t seem much to be a bunch of future doctors, they did seem much slower and white however.
In other words, on a Saturday night in October, no one gives two rips whether LSU vs Alabama has lower SAT scores than Purdue vs Iowa. Just as long as you know the football and the fan bases are much superior in terms of football entertainment

Texas in November or Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota in November? It's a crap shoot for what weather you'll get up there.

If the SEC comes after Clemson, don't even think twice about it. You'd be in that conference quicker than it takes to recite all of South Carolina's football championships...
You could rekindle the yearly UGA game, the SCU game becomes a conference game. You guys would have a blast playing programs like UT, Florida and Auburn. It's a good move for Clemson if you get the chance, and I think you will get that chance. It makes sense for the SEC if they expand to 20+ teams to get more powerhouses, and Clemson fits that bill.

Better to shake hands with the SEC devil than the B10 devil or the left out in the cold devil.
