our pitchers as scared or unable to throw strikes in the first 7 innings as they were in the last two?

Same thing that sunk us yesterday before we even had a chance to swing the bats.

Maybe the staff is afraid of any team other than themselves with "ACC" on their uniforms? We are shirley making these Cane pitchers look like Hall of Famers through two games.

We need to bounce back and salvage a game in this series tomorrow, just for the team psyche going forward. We went down without even a whimper in the 9th today.

I think outlaw is being sarcastic….

The pitching was decent today, did their job for the most part. The hitting or lack of it, is what hurts this team. Little to no production at the plate to advance runners that were lucky enough to get on base.

Hoffman did pitch well for the first 6 innings. He gave up two runs, which is good enough to win if we could hit the ball. I stopped watching when they gave up the two runs in the 7th. It looks like all the positives from the first 14 games have been replaced with 2021. 2.0. 6 fly ball outs in the first 3 innings and several 0-0 or 0-1 outs. They need to stop looking for a HR every at bat and just play baseball. They are back to doing the same crap that drove me crazy last year. Understand that this is baseball and you are going to lose some games but you have to give yourself a chance. 3 hits through 6 innings doesn't get it done.

Exactly. The wind was keeping pretty much every fly ball from being anything other than an easy out.
