Remember when our offense looked like that?

It takes a QB that can make quick decisions and sees the whole field. It’s also nice to have receivers that can get open

Don't forget courage to use the middle of the field.

our receivers get open a lot more than anyone

gives them credit for. Problem is DJ doesn't trust himself and never gets the ball out when they have separation. He waits until the defense gets back into the play.

Not saying drops haven't played a role either

but it is a lot harder to catch a ball when you've got a DB draped on you versus when you are running in space. So not 100% on DJ, but he isn't quick enough in progressions, decision-making, or escaping pressure and that throws off all of the timing on pass plays.

I have seen countless plays where he had a receiver, or two, wide open and didn't see them because he was locked onto his pre-snap guy.

He simply cannot “throw someone open.” It seems like he can’t trust himself to make the throw UNTIL the receiver comes open.
