and it was given up by the reliever after the game was 9-0 . . . Yeah, not too shabby!!!

It would have been hard for me to pull the starter that had not given up a hit . . . Yes, I know his pitch count was at 91

But I would have still had problems taking him out . . . Unless he told me his arm was done for the night . . .

I agree. The pitcher was definitely not a happy camper after being pulled from the game.

I think miss st learned a lesson from uva. When uva didn't pull the starter after leading 4-0 over miss st. That fella too had a no hitter and pitch count in the 90's. UVA coach imho put player over team by letting him go back out in the 7th. He got shelled trying to face the lineup 4 times... And it created all the mo that miss st needed. Jmho of course.

That pitcher was working on three days rest. Not the normal five. Good call to pull him.
