I love Clemson Soccer and watch whenever I can but simply don't understand the name. They are called Clemson United. Sounds like a UK pro soccer team. Makes me want to not watch them. Anyone know how the name came be be??

It’s a futbol name. A lot of soccer teams use United for what ever reason. The club team around me is Charlotte United. Not sure of the origin but associate it with the sport. Same as the shield on their jerseys.

Thanks, I understand that but Clemson is not a Club team. Its a University. Can you imagine the football team called Clemson United? Maybe that doesn't sound so bad...
