Goodwin and Grisham…

Goodwin underperformed as badly as Streeter when you take into account the talent he had on the defensive side of the ball. He needs to be next.
And Grisham…do we even need to discuss this one?

I think the new OC would replace Grisham. Dabo can leave that one be for now.

That may be the OC to make part of decision on who he wants as his coaches. Spiller and Grisham beware

Goodwin gets a pass this year.
Offense kept his defense on the field for most of the game.

He had what was supposed to be the best defense in the country and they underperformed. If Streeter doesn’t get a pass because he was stuck with DJU all season, then nobody gets a pass.

Bresee, XT and Davis. Davis was banged up the first 1/3 -1/2 season. XT and Bresee might as well not played at all. Bowl game gave up 370 yards to a really good O team with 2 first round picks playing and other starters out
I like Goodwin as a coach and what they are bringing in on D line + those guys coming back that could have moved on - says a lot

Two of the most lock down defenses I've seen at Clemson were last year and 2014 while DW4 was hurt. Those offenses were substantially worse than this one and Brent had our D playing lights out.

Not correct Intrepidwill. Time of possession by O was up from last year. And...higher than many of the top teams. So the offense did not leave defense on the field an excessive amount of time.

I would be fine with Goodwin getting the boot. I don't think it will happen, but I didn't think Streeter would get fired either, so who knows?

Out of a lot of the big plays we gave up this year, it always seemed like execution to me. DE's not setting the edge, safeties getting too nosey in the backfield, corners just playing with bad technique ( early ). Imo, Wes deserves at least another year or two before the verdict is in with him.

I think this puts Goodwin on the hot seat though for him to perform this upcoming season, shows everyone on staff that Dabo will make changes.

The defense played good enough this year. We are living in an offensive era. Is there really anyone better? The “best” defensive coordinators all loose all their luster- think Brown, Bateman, Grinch… the list goes on…

His defense looked strong but shaky sometimes. It's too early for his verdict. Grisham should be out though.

Goodwin was significantly worse but it's his first year as a coach period so I guess Dabo still sees something in him.

I agree. Glad this got done and would expect Goodwins leash will be very short.
