Effect of FSU's bye week...opinions...

What say you?
Good or bad for FSU to have had that extra healing, rest, and game planning?
Will it help them more or less considering Clemson is having to keep running in stride?

If they had some dinged up players, I suppose that could be

an advantage. I don't believe anything about the bye week will prepare a freshman QB for his first foray into the Valley at night with this much on the line. They can't recreate that with three weeks or a year to prepare. This will be by my estimation his first real game.

It gave him something to think about on his free weekend. I bet you couldn't drive a toothpick in his butt with a jar of vaseline and a sledgehammer these days.

both teams are reasonably healthy, it hurts us some in that they have an extra week of game footage to break down, but we really did not show a whole lot in the last few games.
I think what helps us the most is having played better competition to this point, and having the game at home.

to be honest i dont think that Chad has shown much of anything of this offense in the first few games. I mean yes there are jet sweeps here and there. they only have a few pieces of video on Hopper. but thinking back to last year there are plenty of plays we have not seen. Hell even Tajh said they haven't gotten deep into the play book not really a need to. I wouldnt not be surprised of this stuff isnt laid on the line against FSU IF we need it. I mean look at the plays last year at Doake that reverse half back pass i was like where in the hell did that come from?

FSU has twice the time to prepare for Clemson. Big advantage FSU! Negates home field advantage. Why Vegas has FSU the favorite.

Our staff has known for the last year that this is the most important game on our schedule, most everything FSU has seen thus far on film has been window dressing. I do not see a huge advantage.

If they had injured starters that needed time to get well it helps, if there were no significant injuries it doesn't really have a big effect.

IMO it is a huge advantage for FSU... More time to rep

their D for our Offensive and Defensive plays. Same reason the Yard birds and the SEC has been scheduling Div II schools before rivalry games for years.
Same reason why it helps teams to stop GT's option attack when they have more time to rep it and study it.

hurt that need time to heal. From a rhythm standpoint, playing each week is better.

Other than the chance to heal from injuries, I'm not convinced that bye weeks are that big of an advantage. To the contrary, I've seen many games where the bye team looks out of rhythm from not having played a real game in the past 10+ days. Say what you will, but I think there is something to the players getting in the zone of the "grind" - believe Clemson plays better in the 7 day rhythm and like where we are leading up to the FSU game. I guess we will see how the bye week affects FSU in 6 days...

Considering the roll that Famous and the rest of the Noles

were on I'm happy for the time out for them. There is no way to prepare for Death Valley no matter how much time you have on your hands. Georgia had all summer and look what it did for them.
Getting FSU out of their routine can only be a positive IMO. We're healthy enough all around where our one week will be plenty. We fixin' to bring it.
Look out Noles!
Go Tigers!

I wish people would stop with this famous crap. It is the dumbest nick name I have heard for a player yet. No offense to you,but I just call him the FSWho quarterback.

Having the bye week,in my opinion makes no difference for FSU one way or the other. I suspect they will have a good week of practice knowing the importance of this coming Sat. Clemson,on the other hand has me worried. We should have buried B.C.Personally,I think we were "looking ahead". We were not crisp on offense for much of the game and let them hang around. That said,I think we also have a good week of practice, but this game and it's importance concerns me even more than the UGA opener.

2 weeks to prepare against the Clemson offense. They will be very effect in slowing Boyd and the Clemson offense, and that gives them the advantage to win the game.

Out of rhythm

Our bye week before playing NCSt hurt us in my opinion. This bye week for the Noles will cool off their offense, and slow their O line.
It may help them with film study only, but it will over prepare them to our current tendencies. If the Chad changes up a few things, Tajh and company is gonna burn 'em.
