I personally think it’s already a done deal in the plans. Clemson to the SEC, the head of these conferences have already planned a couple of scenarios. I personally believe these conferences will have 16-20 teams.
Don’t be surprised if Notre Dame ends up in the SEC also. Dabo has been awful quite about the situation because he already knows we are headed to the SEC.
This is my opinion because I know our value, our board is proactive and they met a few weeks ago to seal the deal. No support the ACC comments coming from our leadership.
We need our extra home game every other year to come too but they won’t, Wake Forest.

Competitive is one thing, winning a title is a whole new kettle of fish. If we want a chance for another Natty, we have a much better chance either where we are or some combination of of ACC, Big 12 or PAC.

I’m going to disagree, going to the SEC will help our recruiting greatly. We will compete in the playoffs yearly while Dabo is the coach.

As hard as it may be, you have to look beyond how things have been done in the past. It would be a huge mistake to assume it will still be that way in the future. Like it or not the Super Conferences are here. We get on the train or get left behind. Fortunately, I have no doubt our Board, President, and AD are more forward thinking than you.

Yep...agreed Humble...except I think it eventually goes much higher than 20---maybe 24 or more before all is said and done. If the SEC and B1G want to control the playoff....they need to grow markedly larger.
It's amusing to see some ppl on here still entertain that CLEM could actually get left out. Outside of ND, we're the prettiest girl. I predict in the end it may be hard, very hard, for ND not to go into the B1G. Once the B1G completes its assimilation, ND may have trouble scheduling many of their traditional opponents who will reside in the B1G. Staying independent may prove to be quite a challenge without access to B1G or SEC teams.....b/c without those...there goes your intriguing matchups....
I think our recruiting will only be helped by a move to the SEC. Comp will def. be tougher overall, but with the larger number of playoff spots, the need to go undefeated and only lose one goes away.

My forecasting for future Clemson football, if we do join the corrupt SEC {Lord I hope not), prepare yourselves for seeing Clemson in the playoffs only on occasions. The SEC will be so strong (except USuC, Vany, and Missouri), we would have to play quality teams almost every week. Doing so would create any pitfalls along the way. Forget about SEC money and look at the landscape of the two big conferences. Too many good teams you have to beat weekend and week out. Don't join another conference. Beef up the one you are in now. Just my opinion.

We will be in the playoffs more than you think because the playoffs will be expanded with the new college football structure. We will be in the mix annually.

How is that a bad thing? It will make our regular season interesting and exciting for a change. Right now, we can sleepwalk through the ACC and that’s no fun.

What you just said is why we get blasted for our soft schedule and questioned on whether the ACC deserves a spot every year. If you don’t think we could get in the playoffs and win a title in the SEC, then you are agreeing with what the media and the Coots think about us. I believe we either get in the SEC or it’s OVER.

I say this because unwittingly or not, your constant posting that the move to the SEC is a "done deal" comes across like you know something.

It’s definitely speculation but I do believe the deal is already done because the way people I know are involved are acting when asked about it.
It’s my opinion based on that and intuition alone.

I’m starting to think you may be right. If you consider everything that has happened recently like…
1. Lack of vocal support for the ACC from Clemson AD and President.
2. Dabo’s comments about “we all know where this is headed”.
3. The very candid posts from Clemson beat writers as soon as the news broke about USC and UCLA. I was surprised how they all were talking about Clemson changing conferences.
4. How they have all gone silent now. Are they being asked to refrain from talking about it?
5. The telling comments of the Big 10 and SEC Commissioners.
6. The dejected behavior of the ACC Commissioner.
7. Paul Finebaum repeatedly talking about Clemson joining the SEC. Regardless of ones feelings about him, he is in the know concerning SEC matters. I’m sure they use him to “leak” information from time to time if the SEC wants it out.
8. Dan Patrick’s comments.
9. Mack Brown’s comments.
10. The long Clemson Board Executive Session recently. Maybe it wasn’t about realignment or the GOR, but the timing makes me wonder.
There is just too much smoke. It would be so easy to shut down all of the speculation, but NO ONE has done so. I guess we’ll know soon.

supporting the ACC is that we Tigers have long memories. We remember the ACC shafting us with an arbitrary 3rd year of bowl probation in 1984, when the NCAA probation would have been over after the 1983 season. Given that history, why on earth WOULD we sing the praises of the ACC? They are lucky all we do is say nothing at all.

I get a kick out of anyone that thinks 'corrupt' and the SEC goes together. This just goes to show how limited their knowledge is as to what goes on at college institutions.
I had a professor in college that came from a B1G institution that takes pride in using the word 'THE' in front of their name. He said the fraud and corruption in college football cannot even begin to hold a candle to the corruption going on to obtain those research dollars that AAU schools compete for. He said he knew all about it and that is as far as he would go to share info on that regard.
So, look no further than your neighborhood as it is there in some form or fashion. The academic side is worse, according to him, than any athletic side.

Dabo already recruits at a very high level with the ACC boat anchor that he has to deal with. Put us in the SEC and it will be Katie bar the door. Not saying we dominate but there will definitely be more than on Sheriff in town!

I don't have any insider information, but like you the silence from Clemson regarding expansion is defeaning. Two 16-20+ team super-conferences is where it's heading.
Clemson won't be staying in the ACC, and a deal to move to the SEC has probably already been brokered. It might not happen this month, but you can bet there's a reason all's quiet.
