Any of you ever fire one of these? What kind of recoil does it have? Will it break my skinny arm?

First time I shot a pistol I started with a 22, then 380, then 9, 40, 45, 357, 44mag, and a 50AE Desert Eagle. It was powerful at the time but nothing to be scared of. You need to be familiar with guns and have a good proper, solid grip and stance with it though. It's stout. Snubnose 44mag scares me more lol

I've got no problem with guns, but why is there really even much of a market for this? You going elephant hunting with a handgun?

I would assume that the main purpose of a 50 caliber weapon of any type is to kill. In the world today, I am sure there is a large demand for weapons of this type.
I am not in the market to buy one as they cost around $1,800. I own a .357 Magnum. That is large enough for me. I just saw an episode of “The First 48” where a guy was murdered with a Desert Eagle 50 AE and it basically cut the guy in half. I was just intrigued.
But I am sure the Desert Eagle would have no problem bringing down an elephant if you wanted it to.

It’s a novelty gun. If I ever got one it would be the gold version and a safe queen. If you needed power say in bear country #1 carry a long gun and if your handgun was needed several other options would be better.

Actually a lower caliber is harder for many. If they don't grip the gun well and have a limp wrist, it can fail to rechamber.
When Dirty Harry came out, many bought his gun, then sold as they were less fun on the range.

I’ve owned one. Blast to shoot. Nothing at all like the recoil of big bore revolvers like a 500 s&w or 454 casull. More like a medium barrel 44 mag. Not the palm crushing recoil of those revolvers . It’s a #### fun gun to have. Just don’t limp wrist it or it may not chamber the next round

Not a 50 AE but my everyday carry is a Desert eagle 1911 U 45 Israeli magnum research. It is has a great recoil balance.

Fun gun to shoot for a while, but likely not one you'll shoot enough to get consistent.
If you have a (or some) shooting ranges near you that rent guns, see if they have one. They're a pretty popular gun and the ranges make good money selling you the ammo for it. I've rented a couple of them over the years at different ranges.
I would recommend you rent one, before you buy. A two to three hour road trip to a range that rents one can help you get it "out of your system".
If you grip it correctly, it doesn't "kick" as much as you'd think. Some of those big bore revolvers can put a hurting on your wrist. The DE 50 isn't too bad.

Any pistol with ability to penetrate light armored vehicles should cut a person in half with the right ammo. It kicks and you'll know it when you pull the trigger.

Nothing to worry about unless it's a really hot load. The first time I shot one I was able to hit a golf ball at about ten yards. If you're an experienced shooter you'll be fine.
