Last year was a most unusual season for Tiger football and almost all of the conversation was about the issues at quarterback. The season ended with a lot of optimism from the fan base as changes have been made that excites most of us followers of the program. Bringing in the new kid into the league championship game certainly gave us all a good feeling. Certainly none of us was disappointed at the way the program was headed after the Tarheel win. I will always believe that the Orange Bowl would have been a better game for us if the change in leadership on the field hadn’t been announced so quickly. Letting UT know that DJ was still the man would force our opponent to prepare for a team that they had watched all year. It was easy to play a team that was going to start a freshman for the first time in his career. UT did a great job of getting their guys ready to play and it showed on the field. Having a young player start the first game of his career against a solid team in a very meaningful Orange Bowl was not the thing to do.

With all that said .... Klubnik will now start the season as the starter after going thru months of preparation to become the leader of the team. We all know that Dabo and his staff will be very prepared to begin this new year.
I like the idea of playing this very first game as the starter for Klubnik on the road. A lot can, and likely will be learned about this team very early. The next two games against lesser opponents will allow a lot of players to get ready for the season including the QB.

The very next game will be something to see and I hope you all know how very important it is to fill the Valley for the Noles. Although early, this game could easily decide which way the Tigers are going.

Our Tigers have the month of August to get ready to be a highly ranked team in 2023.

Do you think that everything is in place for the Tigers to return to the top of college football?

WR is the #1 unanswered question for me. Can we turn the corner this year? Did the WR play the last 2 seasons negatively impact our QB play or did the QB play negatively impact our WR play (a little of both but my opinion is mostly the latter). 2 Biggest area of improvement - 1) our WR's need to win the 50/50 balls - was almost a given that we would win the 50/50's when you saw DW or TL throw up a pass to a covered WR. 2) Do better at creating separation. Threat of our QB's mobility and our running game should hopefully open it up a bit.

I’m with you on this. DJ didn’t instill a lot of confidence, IMO. I’m pulling for Cade to bring back the swagger and the confidence to win that we had during our Championship runs. Of course we won’t get much positive comments from the esecpn network, but I just hope we ball out every game and remove all doubt.

Lack of separation

Has been a big problem. Too many times TL had to throw to covered receivers. As I stated back then Justin Fields was throwing to wide open receivers. We need some WR speed instead of only tall ones trying to win 50/50 passes.

We need to see better production...

at WR and in the defensive backfield.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I sorta think our secondary will be a strength this season.

A little worried at kicker tbh.

Elite WR play is what we lack.....could it change this year?

May 4, 2023, 1:25 PM

maybe.......and if it does we'll "be back"

if not, then no.

We have a chance

...if our offense is significantly better, and the defense shows some slight improvement we're going to be dangerous.

I have faith that Garrett Riley's offense will be better. So, I think we return either this season, or next.

I’m hoping the ACC football teams are stronger this year than they have been in the past. We need a bit more credibility when it comes down to a 4 team selection. After this year at 12 teams we should have no problem making the playoffs year over year.

Got to have a deep threat from the receivers. The screen passes don't work because the secondary plays at the line of scrimmage. Hard to block a CB when he has no threat of getting beat deep. Riley has to find a way to open up the middle of the field. Get the passing game going and this team has a chance.

We finally have a real QB and OC so that should make a world of difference. As others have stated, WRs need to step up and I’m still not totally sold on Goodwin. Our D has to be significantly better than last year

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We missed the playoffs by a pubic hair w/ DJ

Then Cade. We were instantly better. Almost made the playoffs. Does that suck? Mmmno.

Imagine for 2 seconds Brandon with a seasoned Cade, for a whole season. Would we have made the playoffs? Probably.

Cade + the freshest young mind in college football, Garrett Riley.

What u thinks gonna happen?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nobody wants to imagine Brandon still here........

May 5, 2023, 10:42 AM

Dabo fired him for a reason.........if Dabo thought DJ was the only thing that made Streeter an OC failure at Clemson, then he'd still be here.......move on.

No injuries......or less injuries

May 5, 2023, 3:02 AM

We seemed to always have so many players out because of injuries the past couple of years. Hopefully, that is better this year. A lot better.

I think it’s time. I’ve said it a few times but I will again. Just like when Bama was on top and no one could dethrone them, UGA is that now. We are being called to slay the king again since no one else can.

We do need to come out and leave no doubt all year. The losses last year were unlike anything we’ve seen in almost a decade, even DJs first year starting we didn’t get blown out by anyone, we had two blow outs last year. The time is now to get things back on track.
