Crazy StubHub fees. They charge 24%/ticket for National Championship game

Seems like this industry is ripe for a new competitor. Amazon??

StubHub gets fees of roughly 33/34% per ticket sale.

Did you realize how much Stub Hub fees are? If you get a National Championship ticket in the upper deck and cannot go, to just recoup your costs for a $475 ticket, you have to sell it for well over $600.

The seller has to sell at least 10% above face. Then, the buyer pays 24% in fees on top of that price.

Skip StubHub. I’ll give you $500. We both win.

The fine print might say that you have to share a bed with a dued outside Big Al's...

That would be nearly as funny if it wasn't entirely accurate.

I think you’re missing my point. Not worried about the $600. Bothered by the High “Tax” StubHub/Ticketmaster charge. When the market leader can command the margins that these guys do, one would expect someone else could do it just as well for (at least a little) less. Seems extreme at present.

There’s at least two more of these scam ticket brokers that do the same thing and they can because the schools and CFP are getting their cut of the secondary market to be sure.

I will have to say...

that I thought IPTAY did a pretty darn good job with tickets to the last three CFP semi final games and the two CFP National Championship games.

We had good seats and only paid face value for them.

Stubhub might be as bad as Ticketmaster

Sad to say but I personally attend fewer concerts and sporting events than I would otherwise because I find giving those companies my money so distasteful. Ticketmaster literally works with scalpers..

SH usually gets 10% from seller and 15% from buyer for regular games.

Don't see a huge demand for NC tix if it is CLEM and Bama. Both schools will have good crowds, but demand will be equal to or less than the demand was in Arizona. I know several Bama fans who are DONE with these games b/c they have gone so much over past ten years. Cost, travel, having to work is going to keep a lot ppl away
