Breakout players for tomorrow nite's game will be.........

Aug 30, 2013, 10:19 AM

Shaq Lawson on defense

Martavis Bryant on offense

What new starters/players do y'all think will have a big game?

Screw Calford.

Boulware stuffing the run!***

Wishful thinking considering he's not even on the two-deep

Aug 30, 2013, 10:35 AM

I think he'll bust some heads on special teams though. But not on defense.

Is Lawson starting? I though Beasley was getting most the snaps on that side

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Beasly might become a liabilty against the run.

Aug 30, 2013, 10:22 AM

If that happens they might put in Lawson or maybe even move Crawford back to the WDE spot and let Barnes take the SDE spot. Remember we still haven't seen Venables' "Endy" package which has 4 DEs on the line to get after teh QB

Re: Beasly might become a liabilty against the run.

Aug 30, 2013, 10:24 AM

True, I honestly think Lawson is a better run stuffer than Beasley, so I'd love to see what Venables has planned

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agree, I made the same statement***

As much as I hate to say it, Beasley just isn't getting it done against the run and I think GA will run at him every chance they get. Lawson will probably wind up with more reps than Beasley.

Just a rumor, but I've "heard" the coaches think the same thing for this game.

Just my opinion..

Aug 30, 2013, 11:13 AM [ in reply to Re: Breakout players for tomorrow nite's game will be......... ]

Maybe irelivent(sp) to the topic, but I don't see Vic Beasley having a big game tomorrow. I think he'll struggle against teams with a GOOD running game.

I like the upside LONG TERM of Lawson.

I agree with you but look out for G-Hop as well

Aug 30, 2013, 10:21 AM

I think both he and Bryant are going to show their speed and improvement since spring camp.

On defense I'm excited about having Breeland and Jenkins back but I look for Anthony to really show his improvement at the MIKE position.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Glad you mentioned G-Hop....

Aug 30, 2013, 10:30 AM

Do you have any insider scoop on kick return game? Our punt return game was particularly boring last year...

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Screw Calford.

I heard that Sammy, Green, G-hop have been doing it

Aug 30, 2013, 11:00 AM

Green especially was an exceptional kick return player in HS. The staff used Nuk and Humphries to catch punts because they cared more about securing the kick and getting the offense on the field. Ever since Sammy fumbled that punt against UMD in 2011 they seem to go with the most sure handed players and ensure the punt wasn't fumbled. Not a bad idea with our offense

Aug 30, 2013, 10:21 AM

Agree with Lawson on D, I'm going with Brooks on O.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Martavis Bryant/Zac Brooks on offense and....

Aug 30, 2013, 10:36 AM

I dont know on defense. Maybe, Martin Jenkins?? I keep hoping and praying for a breakout from Quandon. If he could play up to his potential, that would be huge for our LB corp.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agree

Aug 30, 2013, 10:55 AM

with these choices and will include Williams in the mix. Solid player for a young guy with little fanfare.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

#34?

Offense: CJ Davidson, G-Hop, Bryant

Defense: Sack Lawson, Wiggins, Boulware

Re: Breakout players for tomorrow nite's game will be.........

Aug 30, 2013, 11:20 AM

I'm gonna go with Martavis Bryant on offense, because with Georgia running that 3-4 defense, Tajh is probably going to throw more jump balls than usual passes, and Bryant is a perfect target to get over the defenders and bring it down.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

OK, concensus is Bryant, Hopper, Brooks on O

Aug 30, 2013, 2:37 PM

Lawson, Jenkins and Christian (pray y'all are right on this one, we will need it) on D.

Go Tigers!!

I feel like our D will come out and show themselves, because they are known to the nation as the question mark, and that has got to get to them and make them wanna play their hardest, if anything else doesn't.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Rod McDowell shows he's a #1 running back

Aug 30, 2013, 3:35 PM

100+ yards an 2 TD's
