He really doesn’t have any choice does he? For the program’s sake he wants to keep the 10 wins a year streak going but he probably needs all the key healthy guys to win. Problem is the coaches don’t have much control anymore.

Maybe a little less pressure (bowl game vs playoffs) will help this team play loose and have fun. Seems like this year they (mainly the offense) has been feeling the pressure and letting it affect them all year. They seemed to play looser and better the last 2 games of the year. Need to play that way in the bowl game. Hope they enjoy the trip. Orlando can be a fun place. After all, they are still kids.

The kids that are turning pro, or are nursing an injury may sit it out. No big deal. For the rest of the seniors and other players, it is a great opportunity to play one more game! I don't want to see them force guys to play one more game. A few may miss it, so what?

Dealing with the issue of players opting out is just another bump in the road in the world of college football in 2021. Never has the phrase" Next man up" meant so much. I know my TIGERS will be Ready and I fully expect a TIGER VICTORY!!!

My one and only problem with this bowl is the current name.

Kelloggs owns so many brands, is CHEEZ-IT really the best one they could choose to hang on a football bowl name?
I mean, they could have called it the Bear Naked Chewy Bites Bowl, for cripes sake!

That brand has invested its marketing dollars in college football. Sponsoring a bowl for Cheez-it makes a ton of sense. Ditto with Dr. Pepper kinda going all in with college football. And it works. I personally like my Cheez-it's covered in Duke's Mayo and followed by a big gulp of Dr. Pepper.

The lesson I learned during the quarantine was that no matter how many boxes of cheese-its you buy it will never be enough! On the players, how many do we even have that would be better off not playing than they would be playing. Not like we have a room full of first-rounders this year!

Amen!
That extra toasty taste reminds me of my Mom's nibble bait. Close, but not as good! She baked the Cheez-It's in the oven with melted butter spread over them, almost illegal.

I think is is absolutely insane that a player can "opt out" because it's not a championship game.If they refuse to play, they are NOT a team player at all IMHO.Players at other schools LOVE to have this chance,so why would Clemson players brush it aside? Maybe that is ALSO part of our so called"culture",our guys expect everything to come easily because we are Clemson?Maybe some folks are spoiled and too full of themselves? If I opt out or don't live up to my expectations at work,I am gone.Maybe this is a life lesson these players need to learn.

You have missed the Bowl season the last few years because Senior players or draft eligible ones all over the country have skipped their bowl game. Their reason is not wanting to get hurt and ruin their chances to be drafted. Happens all over.

Says the man who doesn’t have potential millions to lose by injuring himself. Some of these guys have given their all for four-five years to Clemson. While I certainly hope they ALL play, I can understand those who have potential high draft potential choosing not to.

Dabo knows that this is something he has no control over. He does a great job of not worrying about things that are out of his control and focusing on what he can control/change.

One thing Dabo does have control over is hiring coordinators, but so far (on the outside) it doesn't look like he's worried about that either (even though we are starting to lose recruits)… I'm sure that something's going on, but I don't see any articles about interviews or trips to/from the airport or potential candidates...

Coaching and playing are two way different things. That is why you see so few of the greats go into the profession once they retire. Have you seen Peyton Manning as the UT QB coach? or Jerry Rice? Nope, instead it's usually guys who scraped by on tiny talent and strong will power. Dabo was a walk on to a team that was MEH when he joined the team. St Nick was nothing special, and some never played a snap. B Dawk just needs to show up now and then, inspire some awe and shake hands imo.

Yes, that is a real bowl game formerly known as the Sun Bowl.

And we're playing in what used to be the Tangerine bowl? These corporate bowls are stupid. It's necessary to have a sponsor now, but it's totally devalued the bowls by removing any history.
Name the bowls. Bring the history back into it. This bowl is named after a #### Kellogg snack cracker...

We’re blessed with a great coach, hardworking tradition, and atmosphere that grows great players and fine men prepared for life after football whenever that happens. Dabo’s a blessing. Couldn’t ask for any better man/coach to provide our leadership. A real tribute to Clemson.
Now, we just need to be thankful, stand behind him, let him do his job, and stop wringing our hands. Thank God we got you Dabo. Keep up the outstanding leadership you provide.
Blessings, Rock31
