Going Traegar. Will allow me to smoke and grill. Easy to clean.
Anyone have one?

"Had"

it was a workhorse for over 10 years for me. Still going strong as I passed it on.
I tweaked mine over time, putting a gasket on the lid to get a better seal, adding smoke tubes at times to get a little more smoke, etc. Nothing that really needed to be done, I like to mod things.
You will love it.
Meant to add - I moved up a level to a Mak, so I am still a pellet guy.
Pro tip - Costco sells their premium pellets and ships free.

Could you consistently get 500+ deg for steaks and such?
That’s my biggest reservation.

my old Traeger topped out about 350-375, but it was a well used old machine.

I understand the appeal, but they're not for me. Also I don't think he uses the grill feature very often on account of it not being particularly good.

I have a Pit Boss and love it, and cheaper than Traeger.

grills like the traeger, etc good for just throwing a couple burgers on the grill for dinner? I would like a new grill but I mostly am just cooking dinner like grilled chicken or burgers, no smoking boston butts & ribs, I'm on the go too much for that.

night on mine. Quick and easy with minimal clean up. And I got to sit outside in silence for 10-15 minutes. Amazing utility.

If you don't ever plan on smoking anything I'd just get a regular grill. Pellet grills can do it all but they thrive low and slow.

there are no direct flames. But it seems pretty easy to cook burgers and steaks. You set the temp so straight forward.
I'm gonna use it for both grilling and smoking. Will grill more of course but would love to smoke some ribs and pork butt

If you get the brand I have, which is a Pit Boss. I can't comment on the others. But it allows you to slide a grate to either smoke or do open flame direct grilling.

get it up to temp, but you prob do that on a gas grill also.
The nice thing about a pellet is turn it on, set the temp and you are done. Easy peasy.
