How many years are left on Brownell‘s current contract?

There’s no way we will fire him. And people will rationalize keeping him because of the record on paper in the ACC despite this being the worst ACC in history.
But if we don’t make the tournaments between now and the time his contract is up, would we fire him? I’m curious how many years are left on the current contract.

Should’ve been fired years ago!
Is there any sport at Clemson that we have been historically worse at?
Even our tennis teams have been good at times. We had a few good basketball teams late 70s through the early 90s but we have never had any real consistency.
Is this historically the worst program in Clemson athletics?
Swimming and diving?

point to certain aspects of our record this year and say this is the best ACC team we ever had and he’s the best ever in winning percentage blah blah blah blah blah. Of course it’s because the ACC has been watered down with expansion and has been Historically bad for about five years now. This is probably the worst season in ACC history.
But if playing for an ACC championship and being in the NCAA tournament and doing more than simply showing up is the standard, then there is no way we can keep him as coach. He has had better facilities and more support than any Clemson basketball coach in history. if he can’t get it done in a year like this with an expanded NCAA tournament and the ACC historically bad, he will never get it done!

He's owed $50,000 for every month remaining on his contract if he's fired before May 1.

If he is fired prior to April 30, that equates to a 2.34 million buyout. His salary is slated to increase to $3 million next season. Can we find reputable coaching candidates in the 3 million $ range.

and we should. Fire him, pay him for one more year of nothing, and start over. Maybe we’ll find the coach who can get it done this time.

Stick him in the athletic office. Give him a crappy administrative job and let him get frustrated and quit!

A coach will never be on the last year of his contract. It’s impossible to recruit that way.

Sorry sweetheart.
Explain this sentence then: "But if we don’t make the tournaments between now and the time his contract is up, would we fire him?"

Based on last year’s letter, tourney is the standard. If he doesn’t get there, he #### sure deserves to be fired after 12 years of this.
