ACC needs a new rule....

If an ACC school wins their bowl game they get to keep 100% of the ACCs bowl payout. If an ACC school loses their bowl game the ACC bowl payout is split evenly among all winning ACC bowl teams. The ACC needs to start rewarding the winners instead of paying out equal shares to the losers and dead weight...

As long as it doesn't also work for basketball it might fly. The thing you are missing is unless you are in a Playoff or New Year's 6 game, schools lose money on bowls.

If Clemson didn't have to give more than half of our bowl winning to the all the losers that spend the bare minimum on their FB programs, we could take what ever we win in FB, and in basketball on it's own merit, and come out better than the way everything is spit, I would think!!!

As long as it doesn't also work for basketball it might fly. The thing you are missing is unless you are in a Playoff or New Year's 6 game, schools lose money on bowls.
The reason most teams lose money on bowls is because of the ACC's conference wide bowl payout sharing scheme. If the winning teams got to keep the the whole payout (minus reimbursement for actual ACC HQ expenditures for their particular bowls) it would fix the "losing money" problem for the teams that actually win.
I'm a big believer in positive reinforcement as well as rewarding success. The current ACC bowl revenue sharing system is the equivalent of everyone gets a trophy. In the current system, the only ACC entities that are guaranteed to come to the plus side of bowl season payouts is the ACC HQ and teams that don't make it to a bowl (i.e. losers that get paid for not even playing in a bowl).
If the ACC started a reward payout system it would light a fire under some of these slack jawed AD's and dead weight football programs that do nothing but siphon off money from the teams that actually perform. If we really wanted to make it "fair" - players on the winning bowl teams would also get a cut of the bowl payout - imagine what that would do for focusing on winning ones bowl game.
