Please lift up prayers for the Mike Leach family. Story out

of Texas this morning says the family has taken him off life support, and he is in "hospice care". If the report is true, I can personally tell you, this family has just faced the most heart rending, soul scarring decisions that human beings will ever make in this world.
Even when you know it is their wish ahead of time, the act of taking a loved one off life support is traumatizing. I know, I have been there twice, first with my father, and several years later with my oldest sister. It is a fraternity you do not want to join. My mother took a lot of that decision away from us later, she had a specific DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order in place at the Nursing Home she lived the last three years of her life. She saved the staff the anguish about that, she died peacefully in her sleep one night, with a smile on her face.
Please Pray for the ones left behind. Coach Leach will soon be in a much better place, if he is not already by the time I type this. His family will need all the love and support this world can provide in the weeks and months ahead.
Pleasant seas and rich booty, Pirate. You have left us far too soon.

Try doing it with your own infant daughter. It's not fun at all and the decision stays with you for the rest of your life.

Hey we had a similar situation with our newborn son. I’m sorry you had to endure that as well. Today my son would be 2 years old. Hard day today. There’s something to be learned from the pain and experience. God is good. He makes us stronger, sometimes it takes going through the valley of the shadow of death. God Bless you.

I've been there too. Not an easy decision even when you know that's what they would have wanted.

I think the best place he could have been or can be, is alive and healthy with his family. He will be missed when he is gone. He is a joy to watch and to listen to. I will miss him for surem. He is a classic.

deals with the very topic of a parent who is dying. I pray for the family and friends of the coach in this difficult time.

I had heard they were taking him off of life support yesterday. I had no idea his condition was as bad as it was. 61 is not old. Praying for his family I cannot imagine what they are dealing with in making that kind of decision.
