Good coaches learn from mistakes

Coach Lee keeps repeating the same mistakes. I don't care if Babe Ruth was up to bat... you bunt the ball in a tied game in extra innings with runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs.
Not this guy... Some just don't get it. HE DOES NOT.

More to consider. Who’s on second? Is he slow? Does the batter show decent bunt skills in practice? Or is there a better chance the batter pops to right moving the runner?
Not saying bunting was the wrong call as it seemed like the easiest way to get the man to 3rd for a sac fly attempt. But Coach Lee is a good coach.

Do you have speed in the dugout? Is there a guy in there who can bunt? If not, there should be.
Situational managing.

I totally agree, Another Monte masterpiece. I’d also like to know why Kier Meredith, Sam Hall and Hackenberg aren’t playing? Are they all injured.

Might surprise you, but a lot of kids playing in high school and college can't bunt.
Some of them just aren't good at it.
Others saw no value in learning.
No one bunts their way onto a college roster or even onto a high school roster these days.

More excuses...Question. Who's job is it to teach them?
Bottom line. We bunt yesterday, we win.

Hmm.....yet I remember when this was Jack's team the belly aching going on here that "we play TOO much small ball" was nauseating ??
Not that I think it should be mutually exclusive, but others have a point. We dk what the scenario is for the coaches and players on the field.
No one is above criticism but if you're looking for a conversation on this, have it. The whole "excuses" take is lame cop out for anything other than trolling

Not in the top of the inning you don't. Bunting the ball is only a good idea when you literally need one run to immediately win the game. Runners on first and second with none out has a higher run expectancy than runners on second and third with one out.

Some of you are slow and don't get it.
Not some of the time...
Not most of the time...
Not majority of the time....
EVERY TIME YOU BUNT IN THAT SITUATION!!!

You need to stop thinking about baseball like it's 1975. We have statistics that tell us your chance of scoring multiple runs is better with men on first and second with 0 outs than with men on second and third and one out. In the top of an inning, when you can't immediately win a game, scoring multiple runs is ALWAYS better. Bunting in that situation is not the right decision.

I have to respectively disagree with you. On a night when your pitchers are dealing, and it's in the 9th so the other team only has one ab. Go up 1 run and they get a run in bottom 9, tip your cap and play extras.
I grew up with Wilhelm. He coached different in different situations. He didn't use some stupid analytics book to tell him what to do. He knew baseball and he felt baseball. Monte would be well served to play the game from the gut every now and then... And teach fundamental baseball.
All too often anymore guys want to see the ball up, wait on the "perfect" pitch. Whatever happened to just going to the plate and hitting what the pitcher throws you.
