Pete Thamell's early list for USC.

Y'all will find one name interesting.
********* Early list for USC: James Franklin, Matt Campbell, Bill O'Brien, Luke Fickell, P.J. Fleck, Mario Cristobal, Greg Schiano and Tony Elliott. Former coaches who could be sought include Chris Petersen and Bob Stoops. ********
Of the names on that list I would think the guy would be Luke Fickell. the USC AD was at Cincy. Not sure, but I think he hired Fickell.
But, look at this comment from the USC AD:
******** "I want to be exceptionally clear: our university and its leadership are committed to winning national championships and restoring USC football to glory," Bohn said. "This decision represents our next step toward that goal in what has been a thoughtful and strategic process to build a comprehensive football organization equivalent to the premier programs in the modern landscape." ***********
It would not surprise me for USC to go the aTm method and offer Lincoln Riley $10 million a year plus a starring role in the remake of Patton.

Seriously why would TE be in that list? Look at the experience of the others. I'm a huge TE fan but they are going to want more HC seasoning than he has. This isnt coot U this USC has some history and expectations

I would not even consider that job. Too high of expectations. They won't get back to where they were at one time. Too much parity out there now.

7 year contract for 75 million guaranteed. I'd consider it.
And, anybody who takes that job will have the ego that says, "I can take that job and build a program better than Bama." People without that self-confidence are elite coaches.

Tony did live in LA for a while. That is where his mother was killed in the auto accident. There is a story about him taking Dabo to the spot where it happened.

and if we are being honest, I don’t think Elliott is qualified.
I’d love for him to get it though!

Love and have the upmost respect for TE … but have no clue why he is even a consideration for THIS job!!!
If I were USC and I’m convinced every coach I mention will be in a better situation at USC than they are now…assuming USC is gonna spend 8-10 mil a year on a top notch coach…
1) Pete Carroll … been there done that…understands all dynamics of the program…is kinda at the end of his run at Seattle…now he can pay the players legally…absolutely the perfect fit and maybe time!!!
2) Urban Meyer … unless he’s just trying to top saban by showing he can win a Suoer Bowl in the NFL thus making him arguably the greatest football coach of our lifetime…he needs to take the money and head to the West Coast…he’s not winning a Suoer Bowl in Jax…period…ever…he will win a Natty at USC in the NIL era and can top Saban in the fact he did it at 3 different places…
3) Lincoln Riley needs to thank God if they offer it to him … he should go and he will do great there…his life is getting ready to get a lot more difficult in a few years if he stays at OU…and he won’t last long unless he wins on the same level he is now…I do t see him doing that at OU consistently in the Future!!!
Anyone else may be great Amd turn out great but if you’re spending 8–10 mil a year then those are your top 3 … if you’re spending less, then you get what you get and maybe it works out or maybe it doesn’t!!!

They should go PJ Fleck if they feel he can recruit in California.

One would think USC already had someone in mind if they fired their coach two games into the season....or are things THAT BAD over there?

If they can get Mario Cristobal, they should go for it.
