LOL ... I wondered how quickly the refs would get

the blame/credit for the the outcome of this game. TigerNet is famous for this ... I've been posting here for 23 years and have never yet seen a game in which refs/umps didn't get the blame. Every. Single. Game. In. Every. Single. Sport. Period. Amazing streak, no?
I said this probably

Perhaps the whiniest fan site in America.

I’ve had friends who are fans of other teams mention just what you posted. They’ll drop in here when Clemson is coming up on their schedule, and have mentioned the ref blaming posts.
It’s always something here. Refs aren’t fair to Clemson, ACC HQ is against Clemson, TV networks are out to get Clemson, on and on and on it goes.
But it fits well with the conspiratorial non-sports-related posts. Seems the fan base has a severe case of persecution complex.

dark side of the moo® First off, let me clarify that I didn’t care who won the game last night as I didn’t have a dog in the fight, but it was nice to see former Clemson players playing on both teams in the Super Bowl.
Secondly, there must be some merit to the officiating or else you wouldn’t have felt the need to start a thread defending it. You can’t play blind to the fact that referees didn’t hardly call anything all night, but on a critical last drive that ultimately determined the game; the flags came out at least three times.
All anyone is asking is that the referees be consistent. You don’t let them play all night long and then decide you are going to start throwing multiple flags on one of the most critical drives of the game. Yes, they missed the Tee Higgins interference; nobody disputes that. Yes, the officials missed multiple calls. But either call it tight all night or let them play. . .just be dadgum consistent.

Re:LOL: Wonder how quickly refs: Entertainment & gambling

Big time BB and FB (both pro & college) are first of all, entertainment programming. The too-frequently repeated circumstances of referees changing the way that they call BB and FB games ... especially late in the game when the score is reasonably close ... cannot simply be coincidental or random.
I'm guessing that with huge gambling games such as the SB, that gambling interests might play a role in how / why referees make the calls that they do late in the games.
But who truly knows (other than the gangsters and TV moguls) why the referees become 'activists' late in the games where slanted officiating can make a difference in the outcome.

that the refs permitted both teams to pretty much play without calling a bunch of tick-tack type penalties until the final LAR drive the results of which were two first and goal opportunities with time expiring.
