Oscar Delp, who cares…

Oct 14, 2021, 3:01 PM

Got a much better, not even close according to the talent evaluators, and bigger, already being developed TE on the roster, up to the coaches to actually play to his talents and use him:

Jake Briningstool:
0.9713

Oscar Delp:
0.9589

Agree. We got a good one in Lay too but he's gotten all of 5 reps this year with the one target he dropped. Haven't utilized a TE in 6 years now. It's definitely concerning when the coachspeak after last year was all about using the TE's this year.

I am not nearly as dissapointed on missing delp or skinner as I am on missing Dindy.

Exactly right...

doesn't matter who we recruit if we don't use the TE effectively anyway.

Sage Ennis is very talented too. I loved his HS film. We are fine at TE.

As long as we keep ignoring the tight end in the passing game

it doesn’t really matter who we get.

Typically, tight ends are not program changers, Just ask Georgia, they have like 12 on the roster

OJ Howard was a difference maker vs us. Leggett was a difference maker. They are commonly difference makers, just not common for us now.

Tell that to the teams that Gronk, Kelce, and Greg Olsen played for

Why would a tight end want to come to Clemson Can you imagine Delp when he saw our use of the tight end

Agree

Delk not really good

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

IDK...

I was always a big Tony Delk fan... was bummed I never got to see him play against us, just missed him. We played Kentucky in back to back years in 96 and 97 (beat the eventually national champs in 96--our sweet 16 run, 2OT loss to Minnesota and would have set up a re-match in the elite 8 with them).

Honestly, it did not bother me that neither he or Skinner committed here. I don’t know how you can get vibes from reading about them and their interviews, but I never got the warm fuzzies for either one. I don’t think we will regret losing either one.

Actually, the main reason I wanted Delp was so we could see his Mom at the games…..
