Official...No CFP Semifinalist has ever returned this loaded

Of the 16 College Football Playoff semifinalists in the first 4 years, only 3 have not had a player selected in the first round of the subsequent draft - Ohio St 2015, Oklahoma 2016, & Clemson 2018. Both OSU and Oklahoma had players selected by the 40th pick. With Clemson's first draft pick coming at #100, there can be no question that there has never been a more loaded team returning from its previous CFP run than the 2018 Tigers!!!

Agree - this is the most talented team in Clemson history

Coaches have done a he11uva great job recruiting! Now it's on the coaches and players to work smart and bring it home demonstrating the Tigers can win the big one without DW. Plenty of pressure to go around and this talented team is up to the task.

Had Cain, McCloud, and Van Smith come back we would be looking at 18 returning starters. Wow.

And I hate to say it but two should have returned, Ray ray and van. Cain probably would have dropped on depth chart, and might have left because of that. Van could have really used another year to solidify his status.

Not to beat the proverbial horse but we still need someone that can take advantage of the talent.

All of this makes for good reading; however every quality team on our schedule will line up with full intentions of winning when they play us. As our coaches have said the season depends on how hard the team works during the unsupervised practices this summer. Team leaders need to step up during this time and insure that everyone toes the mark. I feel confident they will, winning is not a given it must be earned on the field of play.

One thing I’m not worried about is team and player leadership. CW and Kelly B excel in this area. Add in the veterans along the DL and guys like Hunter and Trevion and this team has amazing leadership.

I’m ready for football.
