of course, I get media passes for the Carolina home games...

... but this year, I've opted not to go. Our Sports Director and other co-workers will be there as always, but I can't, in good conscience, take my 10 year old to that S_hole of a place and subject him to the trashy verbiage he's sure to hear. If you're taking your kids, please buy them those noise-cancelling Air-Pods as an early Christmas gift. You'll thank me later.

As someone in the media, explain this to me: our last night

game down there you'll remember I'm sure that the game was stopped several times due to fans throwing bottles, and other debris onto the field. Even the sideline reporter commented on the situation as I recall. Trying to avoid getting hit, etc.
Well, after the game someone asked Tanner about it and what measures would be taken and so forth. He said something to the effect of "We take crowd control very seriously" but nothing more. A few months later, it was announced that S.Carolina would allow beer sales at their games. This was completely incongruent with crowd control measures. Do you remember anyone saying, Wait hold up, you're going to do what?

Yes. One of our reporters asked him why beer sales now.

@surroundedtiger I can't recall his exact answer, but it was his typical prepared talking points. Truth is, my group here at iHeartRadio knows the reputation of that place, and it seems year after year, the only ones who don't understand it is the USC administration. They need to do something about it... and beer sales clearly isn't the answer

They are using it as a scare tactic, to make the crowd

part of the game. They figure if our guys are worried about their physical safety in the end zone, then they subconsciously will not want to go there.
They obviously do not know that real Tigers don't fear end zones, water bottles, OR batteries.
In all seriousness, if they really wanted to control the crowd throwing things, they would have extra, very conspicuous cameras mounted pointing into the end zone crowd, to make for easy identification and ejection of violators. (Like THAT would ever happen.)

Yes, my last trip down there, which was several years ago with a friend and his 70+ your old dad we actually had Drunken rednecks putting middle fingers in our faces as we are walking into the stadium. We are called many colorful names which I can repeat on here but “cow humpers” comes to mind. Had to Indore abuse in the stands as we were sitting in a gamecock section and one drunk gamecock try to pick a fight with my friend 70+ you’re all dad. He promptly told the gamecock fan where he could go , but the verbal abuse never stopped even when we beat them, they were screaming for us to get lost, even the women and offspring, just the worst experience ever. If we weren’t out numbered a thousand - three I probably would’ve dove in the crowd with my fists flying I was so furious. Georgia was similarly bad but I don’t really remember it is clearly

I’ve never been to a game in Clucklumbia and don’t intend to go because I’ve heard so many stories similar to yours. I have been to UGA several times and it does sound like the two are very similar. Most of the fans I know of the 2 schools are pretty much interchangeable.
