As much as I would like to believe that all lives matter, I realize saying some lives matter than others sells an agenda of hate and that is the end result the real haters want. But yes, all lives should matter.

Of course...

The slogan "Black Lives Matter" does not mean that other lives don't matter. The slogan's purpose is to call attention to the activists' position that, to many, black lives don't matter. In other words, according to the activists, the fact that white lives matter to society is obvious and doesn't need to be said.

The above is not an endorsement for the Black Lives Matter movement. I'm just demonstrating that saying "Black Lives Matter" doesn't in itself imply that other lives don't.

No different is kind of a naive comparison. In slogan or translated to a Chinese person maybe they are the same. In agenda I don't think they could be any more different. That's what people are taking exception to. You are setting a bit of a straw man argument here because most understand what the term "Black Lives Matter" means. It's their message, method an the way they are inciting more racism that people have a problem with.

I don't think you know what a straw man is.

What straw man argument am I making?

A straw man would be if I tried to prove a point by claiming BigCUFan believed something he doesn't, and then arguing against that thing.

The "ALL Lives Matter" response is actually the straw man.

You're straw man has seemingly taken the form of assuming that #alllivesmatter supporters don't understand that BLM and ALM are not mutually exclusive in the world of English grammar. You're arguing against a point no one is advancing (see: straw man) In the real world that we live in people have taken others lives as a result of black lives matter movement putting them directly at odds with the ethos of #alllivesmatter.

Plenty of black people have good jobs and a steady family because they don't listen to that rap crap and call their wife a hoe. Other black people make fun of them and say they are trying to be white. Racism does exist on BOTH sides. A lot of blacks become a product of their environment and instead of cleaning up their own....they place blame on the white folks. All lives matter....drop the mic!

Or how about when the president spoke on the Trayvon Martin issue saying, "It could have been my son...." Meaning that Martin was killed for being black. Would the president have said that if a white boy was shot that night??? Of course not, the only reason he said that was because the victim here was black. The special attention crimes against blacks in Amercia are receiving is not only racist against white people, but all races other than black people.

For much of its history the NAACP has served as a force of political moderation and sought the laudable goal of an integrated society where people of color could reach their fullest human potential unhampered by discrimination. For most of its recent history, the NAACP has self-righteously designated itself the arbiter of who is and who is not a racist—even as it sponsors black racists. It past time for the NAACP to accept responsibility for its own extremism.

You are the biggest racist on this board. I believe that everyone in this country should be heald accountable for their actions to the same degree of persecution.

I was born in 1985, so no, I have never seen a time when people were truly treated differently because of the color of their skin and the law did nothing about it, until now.

Acknowledging racism gives it life. Until we all start holding ourselves accountable for our actions, and not blaming some intangible outside force, racism will stay alive.

Obama, sharpton, and Jackson have done nothing to show peace with both sides, all they do is acknowledge and promote the problem, giving it more fuel.

The fact that minorities get scholarships with lower GPAs and SAT scores is racist against both the minorities and white students. Affirmative action is racist against everyone as well. The fact that the national media hasnt reported 1 single incident of police crimes on a white individual shows the bias AKA racism against whites. How about a few years ago in Tennessee when a young white couple was abducted by 4 black males and a black female and were raped, mutilated , and burned alive and it did not make the national media??? Can you imagine it not making the national news if the races were swapped in that scenario???

I guess you are going to tell me that the reason the crimes on white people dont make the news is because minorities are already at a disadvantage due to white racism against them so the crimes perpetrated against them seem more cruel. Which, in this case, makes you a racist.

No one can win in these race issues. If you take any side at all, you are a racist.

Obviously all lives should matter. And I do believe most of the marches are for attention. Reason being the only time you see marches and protests is if a black person is killed by a cop. Fact around 6000 blacks are killed by blacks every year. Thats 17 per day. There are no marches or protest over this fact. If black lives matter, there should be. Just a thought.

Clay Travis' coverage should at least make you think some. I think the only real incident he didn't mention is that a group of students blocked the president's car for about 15 minutes during Homecoming, but that was not an event that led to protesting, so it didn't belong in this article.

This is all pretty crazy, but don't let it worry you. I don't think (mainly, I hope) that these thoughts and ideas aren't as widespread as people would like you to believe.

When it's the white man putting them down..when its black lives and black power murdering in Chicago nobody cares..there was a little boy who was murdered in an alleyway by a gang member because his dad was affiliated with a rival gang..the kid was only 8 or 9...

And they dont care about rights of other minorities..there's a YouTube video where a journalist (asian america;);) who goes to school there and was trying to get a story and was on the same public property the mizzou concernedstudent1950 people were and they were forcefully moving him off public property.

So to me..it either matters all of the time or none of the time ..and it should matter all of the time..it makes me mad with a president from Chicago and Athletes with alot of influence do nothing to try and stop gang violence..but sure..go wear a shirt or a hoody saying black lives matter because thats easy..but speaking out against black on black crime is hard..sorry ..rant over

Matter movement. Just seems to stir everything up more between people. Like everyone already knows there is more black on black crime than white on black crime. Cannot we be happy with our wonderful tradition at Clemson University to recognize that we all matter, no matter who we are? Right now we should be enjoying the fact that our University is very strong academically and in our football program. We are number one! Why should anybody want to put us down?

IMO this is nothing more than continued bullchit. I find it odd that none of the other races on the planet seem to have issues like the Black race. You don't hear daily how Asians, Chinese, American Indians, India Indians, Russians, Germans, Italians, Aussies, etc (basically EVERY non-Black race) having issues like the Black race does. Anyone want to explain that? I'm so tired of hearing the effing whining and moaning and bitc-hing that it is sickening to keep hearing it. And all the cops and Whites that are killed by Blacks doesn't seem to even be noticed. What the #### is up with that? Obama doesn't have any White sons I guess. And I'm sure that dumbazz Sharpton or Jessie Jackson don't give a chit about any White people. Those two a-holes have a specific agenda of race-baiting.

As for me - I have plenty of Black friends, and for whatever reason - we all just get along fine. I have one Black friend that I have seen for over 12 years, and I plan to drive 50+ miles to take him to dinner within the next few weeks. And - I've looked forward to doing just that for a while. I just don't understand why some people just have to perpetuate this race thing. I have worked with so many Blacks in my life and have almost no bad experiences with them. I simply cannot fathom the hatred that some Blacks must have to continue this effort. Maybe if my forefathers were slaves, I might understand, but IMO it is just imagined by many. The opportunities are there for EVERYONE - not just for non-Blacks. I'm not sure why they don't just lay down their swords and strive for peace.

The best thing to do is to ignore this kind of thing. That is why we are such a strong force. Clemson stands right up there academically with the best of the best. Clemson football is something to celebrate every day! We are number one! Don't even post this negative stuff. This is Tiger Net. We don't need that kind of stuff here. This is where champions come from! We have really smart students and we have really great football players who are great students and wayyyyyyy above average coaches! Let's enjoy these times right now and cut the negative out!!!!!!

Very good post. Why do we even have to start this negative stuff. We are having the best season that we have had in numerous decades. Let's just enjoy what we have going for us.
