"Blacks Have A 60% Greater Chance Of Being Rejected In Mortgage Applications". The purpose was to push the redlining narrative.
The article's own graphs showed that of 100 mortgage applications of a certain profile (likely to be accepted), 5 whites will be rejected while 8 blacks will be rejected. Of 200 total applications, 100 each by blacks and whites, the difference is 3 people. But I suppose 8 is indeed 60% greater than 5 (3/5), so there you go. A trick of stats is that when the numbers get very small, changes have large % differences. Three kinds of liars ....
Note: Yes, if those 3 rejections are due to racial bias, where that is happening needs to be identified and stopped. The purpose of my comment is to show how the left's agenda is to portray more division than actually exists, and an oppressor narrative that does not actually exist.

How does this have anything do to with this article? The GOP state health official is reporting a doubling of fetal deaths. How is this the left making something divisive?

I think employers should mandate it. I think it is fine to require vax to do certain things, a la childhood shots to enroll in school. I would entertain the idea that Medicare should stop paying for covid treatment of unvaxxed. I don't t think govt should mandate vax, but generally, I'm all in.
But I've almost stopped reading articles that are headlined with a purported statistical change. Almost all of them use the stats misleadingly to push a predetermined endpoint. One in a million right handers get disease A. 2 in a million left handers get disease A. "Left Handers Have 100% Greater Chance Of Getting Disease A!!" Yes, I suppose they do. But if one uses the stat to push a societal attitude or govt response, and doesn't spell out the actual nature of the risk, its a big fat lie. And that is what news is nowadays, selected anecdotes or data to push an agenda.

“We’ve identified 72 fetal deaths associated with pregnant moms who had COVID, which is twice the background rate of what we would’ve expected” prior to the pandemic, he said.
A “fetal death,” also known as a “stillbirth,” refers to deaths that occur after 20 weeks gestation. The statistic does not include miscarriages, which are deaths that occur at 20 weeks or earlier.”
