Coach Brownell has one of the toughest jobs in the country.

All of you dang geniuses need to shut the heck up and give the man a chance to do his job. He deserves at least 2 and in my opinion 3 more years. Don't give him a raise, but please give him a chance. Remember, Duke wanted to fire Coach K and UNC wanted to fire Dean Smith without giving them a chance either.

2-9 3-8 6-4-1
Just had to do it lol.
Funniest thing was yelling Beamer Ball at Hokie fans in Charlotte at the ACCCG and seeing the glares I got.

Notice how Frank's winning total from year to year progressed, not regressed.

First, let me be clear in stating I agree Brownell deserves

more time. However, 2-3 years is far too long. There needs to be significant progress next year.
Additionally, there are numerous jobs in this country more difficult than being the head basketball coach for Clemson University.

Not many. Worst tradition and facilities in the best conf.

I agree with you on Brownell, but you won't find many places with as little as we have going for us with as much as we have to face. Of course it's better than coaching at a no-name school, but this is definitely one of the toughest jobs in the country. Difficult to sell to recruits, and the conference only makes us seem worse.

The original post did not qualify his opinion as being the

toughest basketball job in the country. Even then I would tend to disagree.
It may be difficult to sell recruits, but OP brought in guys like Booker, Stitt, Rivers, and Milton Jennings (who may not have panned out according to his expectations, but let's face it...Jennings was a huge get for Purnell as a McDonald's All American).
Please do not misunderstand me, I am not saying BB has an easy job, but the original post seems like hyperbole, although it may not have been intentional, so perhaps it was just misguided.

SC player are usually completely raw and untested coming into school. It's a huge jump when they face actual competition that are just a good if not better athletes (see Jennings, Milton)

players that are good in high school will go out of state to play.
Like the kid that got a late offer from UNC and went there while we had been recruiting him heavily.

6 years total?

Give me a break.
He wasn't hired by this AD. He has no ties to Clemson, or really the area(beside a stint in NC).
He'll get one more year. But if its comparable to this year, I fully expect him to be gone. If he turns it around and has a .500 ACC record, great. He deserves more time.
However, 6 years for a coach whose program has only gotten worse since he arrives, I don't see what good that will do.

I'd be interested to see how much Coach K and Dean Smith

were being paid, in current dollars, as compared to BB. I'd be willing to bet that they weren't even close to what Clemson is paying BB. With greater remuneration comes greater expectations...

Wow! One of the toughest jobs in the country!!

It will take me at least 15 years, including extensive OT and late hours, time away from my family, and no offseason to make his annual compensation to coach and recruit basketball players... and I'm pretty well payed as far as ICU nurses go. Sorry, ya lost me.
If you want to focus soley on bball coaches, I'll argue you on that too. All Clemson fans want is a chance to competetive each year. Nobody expects NCAA tourney bids annually, but I think the general Clemson fan would be happy with NCAA bid 2 out of 4 years, and a win in at least 1 every four years. We want to not be the first round and out in the ACC tourney. We want to get to play in the Big Ten challenge and not get left out because we are not a top 10-12 team in our league. We want to not be an embarrassment. We want a team that plays hard every night.
We want a team that plays with sound fundamentals, as a team, and can hit AT LEAST 70% on FT shooting.
Not hard expectations to meet. Spare me the sob story.

I doubt any team in the history of CU BB has shot 70% from the FT line.
