with a university with the same name, that is the center of the community, without which the town would probably dry up...and has a tiger as a mascot...
that having a tiger theme might be a good PR move. But hey, the troll makes sense? The person in charge must have been a coot.

It's a neat, fantasy woodland thing and the fact that it's 100% recycled materials is cool. It would be very interesting to be out exploring nature and see a sculpture like that.
But just as with everything else, you have to read the room. Between a very conservative population, COVID-related budget concerns, and the fact they wanted to do this in a college sports town with a tiger as a mascot made this an extremely impractical project.
I wish that artist nothing but the best, and I'd be all about paying him to come back and build us a tiger or three in that art style.
