Tigers in the NFL: Question?

Jul 30, 2013, 3:56 PM

I have read a ton about how well Nuk has been doing in Houston's organization and we all know CJ is ready to explode onto the scene, but have any of you heard any other exciting news about our former players in the league? Are there any of our guys who seem to be catching coaches eyes out there's.

(Just remembered the piece on Dalton Freeman the other day. Hopefully he'll solidify himself behind Manigold)

Jaron Brown is turning heads in Arizona

And they seem happy with Ellington as well. Ford is getting some looks in NE and might be the most versatile TE aside from Gronk. Chris Hariston is still expected to start in Buffalo at OT. Coty Sensabaugh is impressing with the Titans.

That's all that I've heard so far.

Dewayne Allen is doing big things in Indy.. Should be on track to be the starter this year.

Jacoby is hurt again

Bowers got called out by Warren Sapp and is expected to start for the Bucs

I think I saw Goodman is performing as expected, we'll probably see him in some preseason games at least.

I don't think he ever fully recovered from last season...

If he can't prove to teams that he can stay healthy, his NFL career is likely going to be short lived.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Ford could be the starting TE for the Patriots

by default....

1st stringer injured (Gronk)
2nd stringer in jail for murder (Hernandez)
3rd stringer Tebow

Tebow has practiced almost exclusively as QB. Very unlikely he is in the TE mix. Also, many Patriots followers have high hopes for Ford, but his practices so far have been mediocre at best. And he hasn't picked up any speed yet - key for top roster spot in NFL. He may still play some this year, but not likely as a starter.

No chance he is the starting tight end.

He's just fighting to make the team at this point. Jake Ballard will be the starting tight end with Daniel Fells and Michael Hoomanawanui in the mix as well. Another undrafted rookie tight end Zach Sudfeld (Nevada) is getting a lot of praise early in camp and at this point definitely looks to be ahead of Ford.

I'm definitely rooting for Ford but nobody is really talking about him here.
