What is it with backing into parking spaces so's you ain't gotta back out later?
I used to think those types were of annual-retentive sort who caint sleep rightly sleep with doors closed and what all, but it's recently been pointed out to me that it's mostly black folk what do it.
I didn't really believe it at first, but upon skeptical observation, I've found it's true. Just like if you see a dog riding passenger, you can bet the driver's white, if'n you see a car backing in to park, you can bet they ain't.
What the deuce is with that?

I never sit my back to the door and I always back into a spot.
All are reasons why you would win in an active shooter situation which happens too often.
I will see you, my gun hand will be on my gun and if I need to, I can hop in the car to get to where I need to be…..

With all the tiny ##### driving monster vehicles to over compensate, it’s easier to see when pulling out.

I believe it is police protocol to park off duty vehicles this way to leave quicker, for obvious reasons. This is why most sheriff's that drive their patrol vehicles home, they park this way. I could surmise those persons continue this behavior.
I would say half my neighborhood do it.
Also - kids, car show enthusiasts, or just people with a spare minute to convenience themselves to get away quicker.
This is a weird argument

trucks and Suburban-type drivers. Has nothing to do with white/black.
If asked unprompted, I would have told you this was a mainly white male thing.
You never see a Mini-Cooper or Prius backing into a spot.

We taught this at Safety meetings when I was working because it's safer not to back up as you're leaving. Apparently statistics showed then that backing in on arrival was safer than backing while exiting. Probably because your mind is on the next meeting or work site.

monthly meeting can be chaos. I back in at Shoeless just because. If a parking lot is has perpendicular spaces, I look for an area I can pull through or park all out alone if I'm going to be loading stuff into the bed of the truck. Angled spaces I do not because that is a jerk move and gets one pointed the wrong way.
I tried backing into my my driveway to make leaving easier but the support pole for the carport makes the entrance real narrow like. I got nervous and gave up on that notion.

At least, around here. I know the telephone company does, but I see city employees, Duke Energy, Natural Gas, etc. I'm told it's so they don't kill or maim a paying customer trying to back out of a parking space but more likely it's avoid damage to one of their vehicles and take a rolling unit offline. I think far more people of ALL races, creeds, sexual orientations, and species do it now in the age of backup cameras.

Prefer the 3rd way. Find 2 empty adjoining length wise spots. Pull through the first one and park in the second one.
When it's time to leave, I leave. Waiting on someone to back in their truck or SUV is a major irritating time suck.
I'm Caucasian although I have been reluctant to check out Ancestry.com.

Took up two parking spaces... was stradling the line. I parked with my passenger side facing his driver side. I had to stop before our mirrors hit.
I got there for an 9 am class... i was leaving around 4 pm. When i went out, somebody had parked in the other side of him and did the same thing.
I decided i could work more at Clemson. I left around 9 pm. Sadly, they were both gone by then.
I was proud of the other car, as it took more dedication. He woild have had yo get out his passenger side.
When i did go out at 4, the cars parked on the other sides of mine and the other guy that blocked them gave plenty of room for us to get in... it was loke errabody was bonding together and helping each other out to screw the pretentious prick that straddled the line.

Fleet transportation safety experts advocate backing in or creating a drive through parking path. Note beverage and food delivery trucks almost always employ drive through parking at a store where backing up is not necessary. This is pre planned by the drivers and their transportation safety team.

MF saw 2 people back in yesterday, neither were white, and made some stupid generalization.
First off white dudes in trucks are probably the most backing in folks out there.
I back in. Why? I have a large vehicle and it's simply easier to back in than it is to pull in forward. It's also much easier to depart as I can't see so good when backing into an aisle with possible traffic.
Much better visibility using a back up camera than peering over the hood of a suburban.

I prefer the wide body vehicles to be parked rather than being on the roads. Getting behind one blocks my view of the brake lights on all the vehicles in front of them. So I don't care how they park as long as they are parked.

For the record, I'd like to note that it wasn't me who said black folk back in to park disproportional to back-parkers at large, but an amigo of mine who said he'd noticed the trend. TRDJ is right; I made a quick judgment after a mere weekend of observation, when months-long surveillance would be requisite to establish such a premise.
And for that, I humbly apologize.
But any moscratcher backing up traffic to back in a spot at Chain Store Home and Garden oughta have their jowls smacked wobbly.

I back in parking places because in G'ville half the population is on welfare and the other half on disability due to being mentally ill.
They cruse around everyday trying to slam into cars to collect insurance checks. If you back into a parking place they can't sneak up on you. I especially love the ones which are opposite empty spaces. That means I can drive through rather than backing up.
I always back up when I buy drugs or throwaway guns cause I might have to leave in a hurry. Sorry to disappoint you but my drugs and guns suppliers are mostly white, mostly.
