His Daughter Linda surprisingly texted me personally tonight to make sure that my being off TigerNet for last 12 months had not caused me to know that her beloved Dad had passed.
And, when I inquired as to the Gravesite Service being held this Sunday versus the Church Service on the day after Thanksgiving at the Methodist Church located near town & opposite the soccer field..
she said that: “Joe’s only request was for his burial to have Taps played at the end. His coffin would have the American flag draped over it, then folded and presented to the Family.
In short, his burial will show simplicity to honor a great American.
And, she said anyone can attend one or both of the services.
With that said I plan to only attend the Friday Nov 26th 3pm Church Memorial Services in Clemson..
and truly hope that many of you can attend to honor one of the most unique men this Country has ever had.
Sadly this church service is the same date & day as his 100th Birthday Celebration Party was to have been held, at the Madren Center by the lake & golf course.
Still, why don’t we TigerNetters who will be in attendance plan to join up afterwards, head down the 2 blocks to the ESSO Club and celebrate JOE21 with an Irish type toast, even if it would be a cold beer.
