Monte Effect…..???

Coots are 20-1 and leading the nation in HR. Last year they were pretty much dead last in SEC and last in HR. Did bringing Monte on help them that much or is he a no factor here? Would we be in better shape if we kept Monte another season?

early season coach, but always crumbled when it mattered. we will see. but right now we have a baseball team that needs us to get behind it and show it some support. tired of seeing these basketball posts. the seasons over, but the baseball season is still young.

Their strength of schedule has been weak. Things will change soon.

Plus it’s unclear whether Coach Coot deliberately sabotaged Clemson in hopes of landing a job where he is now, where he always wanted to be. So it would be hard to compare and accurately assess.

Monte isn't a bad coach. Different concepts on hitting etc. All about analytics, launch angles. South Carolina is a good team this year. Will be interested to see how they progress. Big difference is Kingston has some arms this year. They consistently out recruited us. So they should be good.

I heard Kingston talking about their team this year. He was talking about he and Monte realized pre season they had power hitting this season and they were going with it. We'll see.

As for us. Monte didn't, couldn't develop, or whatever it was, consistent pitching. Our new coach is playing the long game. Not just trying to flash one season... more like Dabo did it.

That said, we're a good closer from winning the scar series. One pitcher from taking, perhaps sweeping the Duke series. One pitcher away from not being swept by ucf. Not losing the usc Upstate game. Ammons is hurt. Not sure is Weiss is completely healthy and beyond that, no one else has stepped up. Saying, one reliable pitcher and we're 15-5 at worse.

You’ve watched what he left behind for a pitching staff, right? No. This team has produced runs without hammering the ball out of the park, but scoring 10+ runs is needed to hold a lead into the ninth.

only have 2 TRUE freshman in the bullpen and 8 total TRUE freshman on the team with a 6th year head coach


compare that to Clemson who has 15 True freshman and a 1st year coach. Clemson has a pretty experienced bullpen so i'm surprised it isn't better than it has been so far.
