by the playoff? Personally, I think if we run the table, there's no chance they don't put us in even if Utah is undefeated too.

Last time I looked FSU played Oregon in the playoffs last year, so exactly how did they get passed over? It doesn't matter if your #1 or #4 you have the same opportunity.

didn't lose a game for 2 years. They were the defending national champion. Yet they were passed by two 1-loss teams over the course of the season, and it resulted in them having to travel to CA to play. That matters in my opinion.

Eugene, Oregon is over 800 miles from the Rose Bowl.
Auburn beat Oregon in Pheonix to win a Natty title in '11. (Extra 400 miles but still)
FSU would have played Alabama in the Natty game last year if we still had the BCS. (Pretty hilarious to think about)
Was FSU left out of the playoff last year?

Ok, so tell me this...

looking at matchups from the playoffs, would FSU have been more likely to beat Bama in NOLA, or Oregon in the Rose Bowl?
The defending champs, and still unbeaten FSU were put at a disadvantage by traveling to CA to play Oregon. Had they been #1, they play in NOLA. In hindsight, had they been #4 they would've been better off than #3. Heck, even if FSU is #3 but Oregon is elevated to #1, FSU still would've gotten to play in NOLA, just 350 miles from Tallahassee. I'm aware of Eugene's location, on the west coast, where the game was played, in the same time zone. 800 miles same time zone vs 2,200 miles crossing several time zones.
I'm not saying that's why FSU lost the game, but it was ridiculous that FSU got knocked down to the 3rd seed IMO

1 and 4 play each other so does it really matter if you're 1 or 4?
I could see an argument for 1 or 2
or 1 or 3
Even 2 or 4.
or 3 or 4
But not 1 or 4.

At one point, if I recall correctly, FSU was even outside of the top 4, then they ended up #3. They got a raw deal having to travel to play Oregon.

So if Clemson gets in and has to play in the Cotton Bowl you'll consider that a disadvantage? Everyone has to travel.

My point was Clemson will be in the playoffs if they're 13 and 0, and it doesn't matter if they are 1,2,3, or 4.
Yes they got jumped in the polls, but they made the playoffs. If you watched them play last year they didn't deserve to be ranked any higher. What they did in 2013 should have zero effect on 2014, the 2013 team was one of the best teams of all time, 2014 wasn't that good.

does worry me a little. Last year, after week 7 , there were 3 undefeated power five teams. This year, there are still 10 undefeated. We know the SEC champ will get in, even with one loss. So what if Utah, TCU/Baylor winner and the OhSt/MichSt winner get through undefeated. Then, we could be 13-0 and shut out of the playoff.

I imagine the jamis affiliation had something to do with it. There are folks who may have used that to snub them as the season went on.

But the likelihood of all that happening is extremely slim.

I'm going to wait until the end of the season to worry about that. There's a lot of football left to be played. We're only half way through right now. Don't forget the the Coots #6 to 6-6. Don't think we will fall that bad, but it's hard to go undefeated.

Extremely low. I'm assuming that Bama wins out, because only a one dimensional LSU is between them and the SECCC. I also do not believe that the SEC will be left out of the playoff.
With one other undefeated we're almost assured of a spot. If there are two others undefeated it increases but not much. With three other undefeated it's highly possible that we...I do not believe that there will be more than one other conference champ that goes undefeated.

I think we get in, but it really may depend on how we look while we win those remaining games. We have squeeked a couple of wins, and held on in the ND game. If we squeak by, we will be in danger of getting overlooked, mainly because of our conference affiliation.

If we go 13 and 0. And dont make the playoffs. It would be a huge disappointment. Cause Clemson I truely believe is possibly the best team in the country. 13 and 0 should get us in. If not Then Dabo should have a national championship trophy made for the team anyway. And call the tigers national champs dispite what the committee or anyone else thinks.
