if you haven't figured it out - the big empty space you are griping about is where the band sits when they aren't on the field....

Tiger Band hasn't sat on that side of the hill in 20 years. I sat right above that area yesterday and the frat boys blessed us with their presence about half way through the first quarter.

Congrats on not knowing the lay out of that end of the field that is 100% not where the band sits.

^^^^^THIS kind of attitude is the problem

Millennials and the most spoiled, entitled generation that has ever existed. I have heard all the excuses...
"We will come when we play somebody good"
"Noon games are too early"
"I'm too drunk to go"
"It was raining"
"It's too hot"
"It's too cold"
"I don't get cell reception in the stadium"
"We are probably gonna lose"
"We left early because we were way ahead"
"We wanted to go drink more"
"I have too much to do"
Boo friggin' hoo. These students have the opportunity to ago FOR FREE and sit in seating that would cost everybody else $65-$500 a pop at various games.
"Those seats will be full when we play a big-time opponent"
Are you kidding me? Wow, gee, thanks frat boys. How nice of you to grace us with your presence to cheer on Notre Dame. I don't know how we managed to get by Wofford and App State without you guys leading the crowd.
Good thing the rest of the 75,000 people there don't have that mentality, or else we wouldn't be able to pick up your slack.
####### ridiculous
Same mentality that is applied to the basketball team http://www.tigernet.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=16934016#16934016

As someone whose parents didn't pay for his degree, I'm going to have to say that students don't get tickets for free.

We got tickets for free. Don't miss the point, you know what I mean.
All my friends at UGA have to pay for each ticket they get, and rarely to they get a full season's worth of home tickets.
We are spoiled in this regard at Clemson, especially considering the size of the school. Most everywhere else charges for ALL sports contests for students

I sat with a friend in the top of the lower north stands around the 50 yard line. It was like a sin there to stand and cheer. I loved the view, but if the rest of the stadium was as dead as that section, Memorial Stadium was be known as Dead Valley. I'll definitely be back in my upper deck seat for App State.

You do realize that any student organization can sign up for block seating right? It isn't just Greek organizations.
So if you want to take it away from the Greek organizations, you will have to take it away from the rest of the student body organizations as well.
Not to mention, it is a great way for students to get their tickets without having to miss too much class and streamline the process for the ticket office.

There is actually no longer any "block seating" per se. You are just given the same general admission section as everyone else. So that very well could've been a fraternity, but it was also filled with kids outside of one as well

This is the answer here. Like I said in another thread, blocks don't exist anymore. Also there is no more skipping class to get a ticket. It's all online now.
While we may have

A distaste for frats here on Tnet, this isn't a complaint that's valid anymore.

And lastly (wow I really wish I knew how to edit posts on mobile sorry for the triple post) Students move from A dot and AA every game to A and B to get a better view. I was one of them. Went from middle of AA to lower A at halftime.

Most of that section isn't block seating - maybe 35%. Try again, folks - your hatred of fraternities gets in the way of any sort of objectivity; other students have been even worse about leaving early, in my experience.

If I recall correctly, FCA had one of the largest blocks during my time at Clemson. Should we do away with that?

FCA and the academically focused clubs had BY FAR the worst track record the past several years. They'd fill maybe 3/4 of their seats and leave to do lord knows what by the middle of the 3rd quarter even at the big games. The frats just snuck in their own alcohol and kept drinking during the game.
