I'd rather have Dabo than Spurrier!

Dec 1, 2013, 11:53 AM

NOT

But I've heard some blind homers say this.

At least Dabo is a good family man!

F that. I want the good football coach rather than the cheerleader.

Amen, but unfortunately, fans like you and me are in the minority. Otherwise, CU football would have never went 20 years between ACC titles.

Spurrier is a jerk. I would not want him as the face of

our program regardless. Hated him in the 80's, 90's and still do. USC and Spurrier are a perfect match. But if I had to pick between my grandmother and Spurrier, I would pick granny. And that would be true all the way back to when Spurrier was at Duke.

Nope. Spurrier is not Clemson material. Between peeing at Augusta National on the course, and showing up drunk for his show, that's the kind of stuff that happens at USC, and people like Spurrier exemplify the difference between USC and Clemson. Likewise, Lou Holtz was FAR too classy to deal with the mess that makes up USC. I knew they would never have success with Holtz. I also knew they would have great success (unfortunately) with Spurrier.

He peed on the golf course, so he doesn't have the class to represent Clemson? He had a beer or two after the game?

These are the reason you or I wouldn't #### ourselves to have a HOF coach?

The guy won at duke, turned UF into a blueblood, and has just won ten games at uscjr.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I never said he wasn't a good coach. He is one of the best.

Dec 1, 2013, 12:24 PM

But I'm not going to sell my soul, and neither is Clemson University, for a coach with all the personality baggage Spurrier brings with him.

I'm fine with Dabo. He's a good coach and a good person. For all of those who want to fire the coach after a loss, or a string of losses, go get a Les Miles, Jimbo Fisher, Nick Saban....heck there are hundreds I would choose from before Spurrier. And like I said, that has ALWAYS been true long before Spurrier coached at USC, and long before the SEC even existed.

The difference between Clemson and the chickens in coach's is that we promote from within....(Danny Ford) an unknown.....then develop them.....The chickens go out and buy a coach out of retirement......Driezel, Holts, now spurchicken......you can't really feel like they are your coach if you are out buying someone elses coach......I am good with Dabo......thats why we are special and there is something special in these hills.....

What are your thoughts on Danny Ford, and Charley Pell?

Bullcrap. If he was hired and won over Carolina consistently you would be his biggest fan. Wins count. Nothing else period!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

NOPE. Coots will never understand. That;s why they are

You kidding? Holtz probably holds the record for NCAA violations and probations: NC State, Arkansas, Minnesota, Notre Dame, USC-not sure about William and Mary

Don't you think there must be a reason why Florida does not want him back?

are you serious?? I just don't understand where some of these things come from... you know Fla just went 4-8 right?? YOu don't think they would welcome SOS back?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Florida does NOT want Spurlid. Nor does Duke, Redskins,

Dec 1, 2013, 10:23 PM

UT, UGA, Texas, ND, nor ....

He has stated publicly they offered him the job

Can't go back after something so special...never works out like you remember it. He was smart no win situation for him

Kinda like Dabo early success. Actually Dabo's is a curse, he won so much people are already spoiled by 10 wins and blow outs of 80% of the scheduled teams

Are sticking with Muschamp. AD fully supports him, one more year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

if you'd rather have dabo than SOS....

Dec 1, 2013, 9:33 PM

you are choosing losing over winning. Its that simple. We do great against an embarrassing conference but get it handed to us against quality opponents and dominated against Scar. LSU was a great win but thats about it. Dabo needs to go. Hell Duke went 10-2 without beating a top 25 team in a lousy conference. Our season was nothing special whatsoever.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I really would rather have Dabo than Spurrier (JERK)

Dec 1, 2013, 10:17 PM

Dabo is all class.
Spurrier is not. He is a jerk.
I would rather lose with Dabo than to win with Spurrier.

But I guess he would do otherwise since your school sold their souls for Spurlid.

What a hilarious post!

Well, if you'd rather lose with Dabo you are in good shape. We will continue to be the state's JV team as long as he is here and SOS is at SCAR. I hope you continue to enjoy having a Classy JV team.

"I would rather lose with Dabo than to win with Spurrier." Very nice and admirable sentiments...but then again....that is exactly what you're doing.

Looks like you have your wish. BTW,

Still remember a few years back when Spurrier had supposedly bought his Lake Hartwell lot and people were close to creaming in their pants. No one quit loving Danny because he was a cheater and a crook. He won games and that's all that mattered.
