Youth will be served
Clemson’s defensive line Dan Brooks said he can’t remember a time when he has been faced with having so much inexperience in his returning defensive line, but hopes he can instill a toughness in his group. Full Story » |

Think we might struggle some to stop the run this

year. Particularly later in ballgames due to depth issues. Of course we struggled with the run last year as well, so hopefully we'll be at least a little better defending it this season.

i think our lb's will have a thing or two to say about that. our d-line is inexperienced, but talented. our lb's, however, have been tested, and now, imo, better coached (with a system that lets them play more and think less), we'll be able to plug the gaps while our linemen eat up the blocking.we have some nasty lb's who will get to lay the wood on opposing ball carriers, while also being able to cover receivers, when needed.

But wasn't Reader being recruited as an OL? I thought he was an O-guard. If he's benching 4 bills, i guess its good either way. We need the depth at both.

good article--the youth will come through, but cannot immediarely replace the guys that graduated. by the way, i think the auburn game will be won by the team that plays the better defense.

more encouraged about our DT situation now than I was in march. I was really encouraged by what I saw from watson and jarrett. I think a group of williams, watson, barnes, jarrett, reader, and watkins will give us a solid DT rotation and competition. I really like grady jarrett...if he was 2 inches taller everybody would be raving about this kid. The kid has great leverage, uses his hands extremely well can get off blocks and is really quick out of his stance not to mention strong as a bull.6'0 dts can be successful just ask warren sapp(and no im not saying grady is as good as sapp)

I think between all those young guys we can find some that will be able to step up and cause some trouble. Would be great if they could wreak havoc in opposing backfields, but don't see them being that dominant yet.

That's not holding. Haven't you seen those new jersey designs where the numbers have been moved from the chest to the ribs?
